Matt Nathanson's Some Mad Hope finally being pressed to vinyl for RSD BF release. Looks like I will have to pay a ridiculous amount on the secondary market.

 

What are some albums that you all wish were on vinyl that will probably never get an official release? There's so many right?!

I wanted Dogs Eating Dogs by Blink for a long time and realized they're never going to give it a physical release, let alone a vinyl release. So I took the matter into my own hands and got a lathe pressing of it made. Now I want to do the same thing with all the other albums I want on vinyl... haha.

Planning on picking up a U-Turn turntable. Is it worth buying the one with the preamp built-in?

 

I have a U-turn as well and I personally went with the external preamp on mine, in case I decide I want to upgrade to a better preamp some day. If that isn't something you're worried about then the built in Pluto will get the job done for sure and it can be turned off if you wanna bypass it.

 

i have the built in one, and it's great.

 

The built-in preamp is a matter of convenience and space vs. upgradeability over time. Having it built-in means one less component to wire and plug into a surge protector plus it saves you $10 overall. Keeping it separate means that it's not tied up with the turntable in case you want to change your table or your preamp, saving you money over time.

I bought an Orbit with the Pluto preamp built in and it sounds great, but I was thinking about selling my current one to my brother to get an Orbit Plus and realized I need to buy a preamp again.
