  4. Sorry to get too personal, but I think I'm avoiding horror movies because I'm an emotional wreck right now.

I had a lot of fun with this movie. I caught it in theatres. it was just me and 2 older ladies who I learned later just love going to see horror movies together. we all laughed and reacted at the right times, probably one of my favorite theatre experiences in recent memory haha.

I watched the first Creepshow last night, super fun, definitely remember some of the stories from when I was a kid. not sure that I ever saw the sequels. but I aim to watch the second one soon and then dive into the new episodes.

if anyone has prime I believe Night of the Living Dead is on there, so that would be good quality. whoever is catching it at a Drive In I'm super jealous. wish the drive in near me was showing more classic horror, or horror at all haha

Great to hear you had such a good time with it especially in terms of seeing it at a public showing, I seem to have just as many bad experiences watching horror films at a cinema as good ones, unfortunately.

Will be getting round to watching Frankenhooker and Prince of Darkness at some point later this week, the latter even being in 4K but had my first dud of the season in the form of Dark Shadows. I wasn't expecting to love it by any means but it failed to meet even my low expectations while failing to match another Tim Burton and Johnny Depp collaboration that I watched last week by a country mile. The production is mostly solid, the score is good and it has a superb cast but the plot is wafer-thin and it is tonally all over the place as it tries to mix horror and comedy but for the most part fails in both aspects.

If you like Frankenhooker, you should add Brain Damage to your list.

Friday my gf and I watched Hocus Pocus.
Saturday was US which I thought was super disappointing.
and Last night, I watched Se7en for the first time. As with anything David Fincher related, I want to watch it again immediately.

I need to watch it again but I think it might be up there as well. The ending (obviously) was something else but I thought it was fascinating that they never actually tell you what city it takes place in making it feel like another world. Super claustrophobic.

My girlfriend kept trying to talk to me while I was watching it and it was driving me crazy haha

I know that Fincher is a big fan of neutral tones and darker cinematography but yeah it's like a different level of rainy gray city haha. Yeah my gf loves waiting until I'm watching a movie I really care about to keep shoving her phone in my face showing me pictures of cats or memes or something haha.

Tried to watch Evil Dead (original), and Ghost Stories this weekend. Though Hulu was fucking up.

I remembered Boys in the Trees being an interesting Halloween movie when I watched it last year.
Not sure where/if it's streaming right now.

    The trailer is VERY misleading.

This description is more on the money: Two estranged teens begrudgingly find themselves walking home together on Halloween 1997, embarking on a surreal journey through their memories, dreams and fears.

This week's How Did This Get Played they review the Friday the 13th NES game and I came across two fan-made films online, they played a clip of the second one on the episode.
