Tautou at the end of You Wont Know sounds incredible

 

I still like "Brand New 2000-2018" as a title, though. A little more unique than a self-title, but still a sort of definitive "last record" kind of title.

 

Haha. Although anything is possible, my theory leads me to believe there is less trolling than previously thought.

I like to oblige the old imagination anytime a wild theory pops up but imo I don't think that's happening here.

I hope to look back on all this and say, "wow, they were giving us clues the whole time"

 

Really as an album title? I don't think Never Finished would be the album title either. Why include that on demos that (presumably) won't even be on the new record?

It's just Brand New being Brand New.

 

Yeah, and fans would endearingly refer to it as "18 Forever."

"Brand New Never Finished" was also on a card that came with the I Am a Nightmare vinyl.

 

The band announced 3 reworked songs a day before a physical release was available at shows and people are still saying that they need to announce the album soon if it's going to be released this year?

Doesn't anybody else think this New album could just be dropped upon as one day with little warning?

 

It didn't seem to get very much buzz online — and is already over — I think if anything it solidifies that they should not surprise release.

 

Interesting intro to Brothers here. Nice to hear him talk more about it. I don't remember seeing this before but I do remember the PCTS video with his brother.

I'm gonna see Brand New on Friday. It's insane to think about. I got into Brand New after I moved to Brazil and I've always accepted the fact that I'd never see them because bands that go to Brazil, if ever, only go to one city for one night. It's the equivalent of living in Florida and having the only concert of the east coast be in New York. At 16, that's unfeasible.

Here I am, 3 years later, living in Massachusetts and still giddy that I secured a ticket months back. I don't think I've ever been this excited for a concert. I'm finally going to see my favorite band!

 

The fine print on the 3 Demo Vinyl says "The End Is Near" and at the bottom it says "You'll Get It When It's Finished"

 

Do they care?? Seems like they don't at this point.. Also a full lp is going to get more buzz than a 3 song ep of songs written 10 years ago.. I'm not disagreeing with you that it might not generate the buzz they would hope for but I also don't think that they would care..

Realistically I could see them doing a short rollout couple weeks to a month before release with one more single on the announcement..

 

The liner notes says this was recorded on '09 and '10?

Also, there's talk of a second single?

 

The press release for I Am a Nightmare said there would be a second single released in the summer.

 

The album's going to be called "The End". And we'll get it right when the band retires in 2018(I.E. "Finished").

I know that a lot of people will always love the originals, but I think all 3 of these versions are the best versions of the songs after a few listens, the changes all work perfectly

 

I agree with this... But happy to have both
