I'd have to wait for this generation to be over before committing to putting any game since 2014 on my top 10 list. There are some contenders though.

    RDR2
    Forza Horizon 4
    Tetris Effect
    Transistor
    Elite: Dangerous
    Hyper Light Drifter

Just off the top of my head and there's a good chance none of them will end up on my list.

Ugh. This last Sekiro boss is so annoying. It doesn’t help I hattttte how slow the animation is to heal. He’s on my ass in seconds I need my gourd be on my lips faster Sekiro!

If you can put that big rock between you and him you will usually have more than enough time to drink from the gourd before he can get to you.

The problem I’m having now is the main way to beat his last two stages I’ve seen is use the fan shield/force counter on him. Though that animation is slow af too. I’m wondering if they patched it since last this video was made. Every time I’m about to send it back at him he destroys me. Any tips? How did you go about this fight?

tbh I did kind of a cheeseball strat lol. I would run in, bait his combo attacks, back up just enough so I was out of reach, and then right when he was done I'd run back in, get two hits off, and back the hell up again. I basically whittled down his health enough to get him to the point where my attacks and parries would actually build up his posture bar and then I'd either stagger him or just get his HP down to zero. Still needed to be able to block/parry his hits consistently, just not as consistently.

Then for Phase 4, it's the same as Phase 3 basically except you're also able to do lightning reversals on him. Those obviously do a ton of damage so Phase 4 was actually not too difficult. The challenge is basically just getting there with enough heals/revives left from the first three phases.

I bought Sinking City on sale a few weeks ago but haven't played it yet because I was playing Man of Medan so good call, lol. Man of Medan is excellent, if you liked Until Dawn then you'll love it. Another great game that's on sale a lot that's similar to Sinking City is Call of Cthulu, I think you'd dig

Yeah if I can get to phase 4 the lightning should be very helpful

Also, I guess that kiting strat is really only helpful in Phase 2, but it can help you get through Phase 2 without getting hit at all, as long as you're patient. In Phase 3, his attacks are easier to block/parry I think, so it's more manageable to fight him head-on. The trick is getting through Phase 1 & 2 without taking too much damage.

    Haha knew It!

Until Dawn is one of my favorite games so I figured I'd love it going in.

I've seen Call of Cthulhu as well but I think my hangup hang-up is the gameplay seems a little fast paced for me. Similar to like Evil Within or Resident Evil. Am I wrong on that?

It's wayyy more adventure and puzzle focused, you play as a detective and (almost) no combat. There are a few levels where you have to sneak/run to avoid something you can't kill a la Outlast but those are pretty far apart. It's mainly about story and dialogue trees (there's like 3 different skill allocations for different dialogue opportunities)

Played Gears online a few times in the last week. Overall I'm still having fun with it, but it doesn't feel as smooth as the other games. They def tried to nerf some of the wall bouncing and put a timer on the active reload so people couldn't come out of the gate with it. It doesn't make it BAD, but it does make it feel different. I was never some professional wall bouncer but I got pretty decent at using the walls and coverage to bounce off of when needed.

It plays more like Gears Judgement's online play than I would like. But it's still fun.
I do miss the sawed off shot gun and, frankly, the Gears 3 gameplay/maps.

Bit of a moot comparison when you consider the scale of them though surely? Massively different games

This is great to hear then, that's like my bread and butter! Sounds similar to Murdered: Soul Suspect which I loved.

I miss not having the option to start with the retro like in Gears 3. I hate the regular lancer.

I’m not great at the game but I have had some fun moments that came close to the original trilogy for me. For the most part, I’d agree with what you said about it feeling like Judgement sometimes
