Holy shit Blankenship, this is definitely their best album

 

So much great stuff today and this is all I want to listen to. I’m on round 4 right now. Just really didn’t expect them to nail it this hard. For sure their best record

What else will I like if I like this album? Just finished and it's pretty enjoyable.

 

I guess I should listen to this.

 

I dunno what you already listen to but Slowdive might be a good place to start. If you like that then dive (heh) into some other shoegazey stuff like Wild Nothing, Pinkshinyultrablast, or Real Estate

I also get a lot of earlier Smashing Pumpkins vibes from this in a lot of places, obviously not a 1:1 ratio but if you’ve never gotten into Siamese Dream or Melon Collie, now might be the time

 

I’d add My Bloody Valentine to that list as well

went into this blind and hoooolllyyyy shit. yes, clearly their best album, and easily the best shoegaze album i've heard since slowdive more than two years ago.

 

Highly recommend people who are digging this to check out Chastity. Not as dense/soundscape-y, but still great.

 

Think that this has a real good possibility of being a top 10 record for me this year - man what a wild weekend for new music

 

If I had to finalize a list right now, 100% it would be in mine. I think Is The Is Are was my 9 or 10 in ‘16

 

so much replay value here. could listen to it over and over and over. and I have been.

This album is wonderful

 

only one of which will be making my end of the decade top 10



hyperbole but also probably gonna happen since is the is are was easily in my decade top 10 and this is better

 

I’ve listened to Blankenship no fewer than 20 times this weekend

 

My girlfriend and I have been painting the rooms of our house with this record basically on repeat all weekend — every time Blankenship comes on we drop everything and enact a choreographed dance

 

I love dancing to a song saying fuck capitalism

 

Music to my ears!!
