I’m off to Spurs’s ground tomorrow to see the nfl game there. Never been there before so that should be cool.

Same! I can't fucking wait. Spurs posted a cool video on their Twitter of the transformation of the ground into an NFL ground, worth looking up if you have a second. But the stadium looks so cool. And the bars. So many bars. There's a Beavertown Brewery dedicated bar, can't wait to try that.

Oh that’s cool I’ll check that vid out. I love beavertown went to one of their breweries for some beer event thing a while back which was awesome (I got so drunk).

Should be a proper good day out. I did one of the games at Wembley the other year and that was super fun.

Yeah their stuff is so good. Think another of the bars in the stadium is the longest single bar in Europe as well? That'll be fun to check out. Prices don't seem too bad considering its a major event in London too.

I've never been to a game before, so I'm not really sure what to expect. We're seated in that White Wall section, which is supposedly the biggest single stand in Europe too I think. Should be a cracking atmosphere like. I hope the game is good. Its forecast to rain all weekend I think but hopefully that doesn't affect the teams too much.

    hmmm

    Another terrible mistake from Lloris.

I think he's broken or dislocated his elbow on that landing.

Even by Spurs standards, this is very Spursy.

Didn’t realize Eriksen, Vertonghen, and Alderweireld all can leave on a free this summer.

It’s just such a mess. I just don’t even know. I had so much faith in this team after last year. And they’ve fallen off a cliff.

Regularly scheduled: more of you should watch La Liga post so I have someone, literally anyone, to talk about it with.

And now I ramble because I’m hungover:

I feel legit bad for Courtois and Keylor Navas. Madrid wanted De Gea because of the big Spanish name, but then that got famously bungled. Madrid had been in the midst of trying to become a more iconic Spanish team (after Barca players dominated the line-up through most of the glory years run), and it backfired on them with so many players. And yet somehow, Keylor Navas took the fall despite being (IMO, and he has the hardware to back it up) a top five keeper in the world. Maybe it’s my predisposition to Costa Rica in general, but he was a consummate professional and the Madridistas never seemed to truly respect him.

And then now the Madrid press are blaming Mental Health on Courtois’s very poor showings to the point he had to publicly announce he’s not anxious, he’s just got gastroenteritis and it flared up in the middle of a game. He was such an unnecessary purchase by Madrid, but I hate to see anyone be attacked for mental health issues.

And Barcelona has a whole nother slew of issues. Fans have latched onto Coutinho and Rakitic as the main issues at the club. Obviously, it got toxic enough that Coutinho got sent to Bayern (tbh—depending on if Valverde survives this season, I hope the next coach brings him back to try and properly integrate him into the team as Phil-Ant-Leo is a front line that makes sense considering everyone’s age). Rakitic stood his ground amazingly to not be offloaded, but hasn’t returned quite to form yet.

The transition from Busquets to De Jong is going to be fascinating... but for now, they can definitely still play together. The De Jong-Arthur pairing will be going forward a long time for Barca, and I’m excited to see it. Sergi Roberto seemed to be the third midfielder for the 4-3-3 at the start of the season, but injuries have forced him back to RB again.

We need to find a Pique replacement and fast. Umtiti’s injury troubles have worried me, but not as much as the fact that there’s no tested defender behind Pique. Lenglet May actually be better than Umtiti on the left, if a bit of a hot head.

Also needing actual world-class fullbacks (Alba is still there, just getting old and is currently injured) is on my mind, too.

Sevilla’s fire sale of players and bringing in thirteen signings is somehow working quite well for them. The game against Barca tomorrow will be cracking.

Santi Cazorla is a legend and continues to deliver and I’m so happy he’s having a post-injury rebirth to the point he got called back up to Spain.

Oyarzabal is a striker to watch out for as well. Kid is insane.

Inaki Williams is in the midst of playing something like 170 straight Liga games for Athletic. I always wanted Barca to splash some cash for him, but I’m also very glad he’s stayed home.

I know I mostly talk about Barca in here, but I truly do love following the entire league. Granada-Madrid is a top of the table clash in a few minutes and Granada took Barca to the woodshed a few weeks ago. Could be a fun one today.

tl;dr - someone else please watch la liga

My best friend is an Arsenal fan, and the years of him and Ramsey having a solid partnership in the middle were some of my favorite years to watch them play.

Ha I watch my fair portion of La Liga, I just never post about it on here.

I will endeavour to do so though now it's clear how fragile you are ;-)

The hangover I've had this morning is from a disappointingly little amount of red wine. I'm officially a fragile, old man.

Wow Spurs. This is crazy. I thought they were going to be right behind City and Liverpool, and right ahead of the everyone else.... Like Tier 2 to themselves.
