Rain is everything I want from this band. The bass lines and strings in Find Forever are also something else.

Ok I’m pumped now - not a fan of flexing but Maybe it’ll be better incontext

  4. Not really feeling Rain like everybody else here, but man there is some really fantastic stuff on this. Here’s To You is one hell of an opener. Love the piano ballad too. Very easily their best record

I will say, Self-Titled was a masterpiece and nothing will take away from that, but this is absolutely their Magnum Opus. They both honed in on their strengths from past albums, while also doing what it takes to stand out. If this isn't their most popular album then there is no justice in this world.

Also: 'Second Best' 'Rain' & 'Your Sake' are the early standouts to me, but I legitimately don't think there is a bad song on the album.

I do feel, like with any band with such a defined sound, the songs do rism sounding a bit samey to some people, but they all do serve a clear purpose in the context of the album. So proud of these guys.

Glad everyone's digging it... I definitely share your thoughts, this is hands-down their best work to date!

This didn't click with me immediately. The last album was, imo, pretty awful, but I can already tell this this at least better. Hoping it grows on me.

See, I'm weird, I loved the last album and cant get into this one. I'm sure itll grow on me, but it feels like something's missing

Flexin’ makes sense in the context of the album. A lot of the songs are not heavy.

I will say, this album is nowhere near as experimental or heavy as their previous work. I was expecting some weird diatonic chords and syncopated riffs making it "heavy" but nah, it is pretty melodic and poppy.

Yeah, I loved their debut, but I haven't really liked anything since that. Hooligans is probably still my favourite song of theirs but I do think this might grow.

I’m going to hold off till tomorrow. Looking forward to diving in though. I was listening to Tyler Carters solo album again today and I do think that one is a grower after not being wowed earlier on in the year.

Ironically, while I do like Tyler’s album, I think I’d enjoy it more if there were some tracks similar to Flexin on there haha

Downfall is the only song on the album I'm not a fan of. It just feels kinda disjointed, and the chords and tones sound like they're all fighting eachother.

  16. Oh man, I love Downfall but honestly for that reason haha. That end is so chaotic and Tyler’s just barely holding it together with that chorus melody

Only listened through once in the car but I love this. So excited to see them for the first time in December.

"here's to you" is such a perfect opener and i hope "keep it alive" becomes their next single

Still blown away that the vocals in the bridge of Here's To You is Skyler! I really thought it was a guest singer... that man needs a side project where he's the lead singer.

    I completely agree!

This album rules. I love Skylers feature in ‘Here’s To You’ which is such a strong opener as well (probably one of my favourites). I wish he was featured more. Honestly I think the album overall has blown me away. Definitely a strong progression for them into more rock’n’b. I do sort of miss the duel clean vocals like on COMA but damn if Tyler doesn’t shine bright on this.

    Alright, I’m on board.

I am not a fan of anything released before this album, and I don’t even really know what to label this genre-wise. Good for them on that front. Tyler has a niche that 100% works for this, and dropping a few members benefited this band immensely.

I think it was @Petit nain des Îles that mentioned hearing Prince vibes from Flexin’, and that was my immediate thought.

Their bassist is the best surprise highlight.

9/10 for me. Felt like an all day guilty-pleasure. Highs for me were the singles, Find Forever, Rain, Downfall, and No Problem. The only track I wasn’t crazy about was Without You.

  22. Alternating between this and DIIV all night has certainly been... a vibe. Lol

Rain and Downfall are faves so far.

Also apparently Wildheart broke up and Michael is in a new band on vocals?

    Whaaaaat already??

EDIT: It looks to me like they’re looking for a new singer after stalking their individual social media a bit... bummer if so.

Yeah looks like WildHeart's singer is starting a solo career and getting a lot of attention so far! Happy for him, his voice was my favorite part of that band easily.
