  1. That’s my biggest worry tbh. The ability to watch it basically right away is very important to probably most of their viewers. It would be a giant mistake to take that away imo

  2. I wasn’t able to find last night’s NXT on the Network - has that been the case the past few weeks? How long has it taken for it to show up on it?

Isn’t in on the network from 7 or 8 in the evening over there? I’m sure that was what they said around the time the NXT/USA deal was announced.

EDIT: damn, beaten to it by seconds!

They air it starting at 10PM Eastern every thursday

Which at least is nice on the west coast because it lets you watch it "live" and finish up right before the good place goes :-)

Is hulu version full thing or just an hour? their version for the opener was just an hour but it wasn't the hour that aired on USA it was a condensed version with just like, women's four way, NA title, Walter stuff and riddle/dain

  7. Hulu version is condensed - only 55 minutes

I can;t find last night’s episode on the Network

In case you're not tired of wrestling this week, Beyond Wrestling is starting their second season of Uncharted Territory tonight.

right. yeah. it'll air tonight at 10 eastern/7 pacific. But I think you have to watch it "live" then, so no skipping ahead or watching on 2x speed.

That’s fecking shite to be honest. Means I have to wait until Friday to watch it.
I suppose it frees up Thursday for AEW.

Im seeing double, not triple, but the really impressive part is they arent far off Monday Night RAW's 10pm hour in a lot of those demos. If we were comparing to one of the summer lull shows, they might have matched them. AEW is basically RAW or SD without the 50+ year olds filling in the extra million-ish viewers. Thats pretty crazy.

I was expecting like 500k, not nearly 1.5mil

edit: Actually, they outdid the demos of the worst RAW of this year (June 10th) for the 9pm and 10pm hours. No idea if they'll maintain that, but its pretty amazing

Huge number for AEW. Not surprised that they beat NXT for the week, but definitely did not expect 1.4m. Also don’t think 891k is bad for NXT, and it only looks bad because the previous 2 weeks have done really well. If they didn’t have AEW, I think wwe would be stoked with 891

What happens in a month when the curiosity factor wears off? Interesting times.

but either way Vince is happy because he owns both amirite?

Huge number for AEW, no doubt, more curious where the next few weeks end up and how big (or small) the dropoff is. Honestly, it kind of feels like a mistake packing this episode of NXT, at least for me the premiere of AEW was a can't miss event while even a mini Takeover could be caught later, they were never going to get me to choose NXT over AEW on this particular week. Also even if it's a day later, having easy access to the show on the Network, or even access to a condensed version on Hulu makes it so that AEW live is the priority, NXT live is not.

Anyway, very very happy AEW did well, happy NXT continues to do well. As long as NXT's move to combat AEW isn't "put Vince in charge," this should be great.

Yeah really wish it was a couple of hours earlier. I usually get home from work around 6, and would be nice to just be able to turn on NXT instead of having to wait until 7 for it to go on. And anyone on the east coast is even worse off.

Is there a place to watch AEW online?

aew was always going to post the better number, it was a premiere on a bigger network and tnt promoted it heavily. should also be said that i'm not sure wwe's *goal* has been for nxt to outdraw aew, they just want to chip into it enough that it doesnt start to threaten their flagships.

If you have a cable login, its on demand on TNT app. I use my best friends xfinity login. In exchange I let them use my WWE network login haha

alright just watched AEW and NxT. Soooooo much to unpack. First off, thank you to BOTH companies for giving me 2 announce teams that are competent at their jobs and make the matches i'm watching actually better. It's something that i've truly missed on wrestling television for the past 10+ years.

In the end, AEW is a work in a progress. There's a lot to love about AEW but the thing that's going to hold it back for a little bit, at least in my opinion, is the talent pool. Is there enough? Watching both AEW/NxT back to back showed me that i just dont think AEW stacks up talent wise. Cody and the AEW team have put together a fantastic wrestling teleivion show. Production is great, announcing great, video packages great, (theme songs are garbage), matches are good. But the announcing on Nxt is great too, production is actually simplified, and the matches are just as good (if not better).

One week in I'm going to give the win to AEW but not by much.
