This feels like one of those stats heavily influenced by hype (ie. it being their first show) that Cody and The Bucks won't shut the fuck up about.

  3. Holy shit and that was with a stacked NXT card

It’s the premiere. Of course it had more viewers and attendance was great. Solid win for them though

  6. Oh man the way bray ends the segment by gleefully saying “yeah it’s gonna be awful” had me dying

I’m more interested in week two. Very curious how many people stay tuned in. Awesome to see good ratings though.

Idk. I hated the narrative they pushed of how crazy All In selling out was. Feels like this will be the same thing

They’re doing pretty groundbreaking things, Id push it and say how excited I was too

I mean they just did 600k more than an already established brand on night 1. I’d be screaming that from the rooftops

  14. AEW tripling NXT in the 18-49 demographic is a way bigger deal.

it’s good for wrestling all around. Very successful for both companies

  15. What happens next week when NXT doesn’t have 3 title matches?

  16. If NXT was live on USA I bet AEW would have done SDL type numbers

not even week two. lets look at the numbers in January. Right now the skies the limit, but once the hype and novelty wears off and they have to get by on how much people are enjoying the quality of the product is when I think we can really tell if they succeeded or not.

definitely glad they are starting out strong and just gotta maintain momentum instead of clawing their way out of a hole.

This is like Cody contractors who say “all he’s done since leaving wwe is start AEW” as if starting AEW isn’t a holy shit accomplishment already haha

NWA tv is gonna shit all over the AEW numbers.

  20. amorningofsleep

    No Fun. Not Ever.

    End of an era.

  21. AEW numbers in the next few weeks + months will speak way more. But if they’re hitting that key demographic every week (which number wise wasn’t far off from the average RAW) then that’s a W every single time

How WWE/NXT chooses to react is also a big deal. NXT can pull from a lot. We know now that bringing people back to NXT isn’t off the table either and might even be a thing going forward

I’m very excited to watch both products. RAW and Smackdown could probably fuck off at this point and I’d be alright

  22. I’ve definitely had NO WILL SURVIVE stuck in my head all day

  23. That’s what I’m taking away from this - who needs Raw or SDL when you have AEW and NXT? Fox spent their money on the wrong brand

the thing is, even if people know NXT is good, they can always watch it on the network the next day. So it doesn't really matter how many reasons NXT gives people to watch, as long as AEW still gives them a reason to watch NXT might be SOL

really hope this doesn't result in them delaying NXT from the network even more...

  25. last night’s NXT episode isn’t on the Network yet but it is on hulu
