I thought Swagger was solid in LU. He’s good in ring and improved a lot mic wise. I think he’ll fit in well in AEW

Overall I enjoyed the show. Definitely some stuff that needs to get worked on. Was way too chaotic at times.

 

AEW was definitely way better than RAW; which also should have been functionally resetting itself but mostly failed to do anything useful. But in comparison to NXT, they've got a ways to go to tighten up the production.

SD is gonna be the really interesting one. If its as bad as RAW was, then WWE has a real problem that they're being paid a LOT of money for very bad shows, yet very little money for the best one.

 

It's up there with the Meltzer star rating system, the Drew thought these things sucked system

The only questionable thing about Fakeover was Shayna retaining

otherwise both shows were great

 

Comparing AEW's first show to NXT is a little pointless, in my mind. Of course NXT was better, objectively speaking. NXT is the best wrestling product of the last 30 years. That includes the Attitude Era in its prime. Don't @ me.

 

Also it was so obvious that NXT was saving the big Ciampa moment for tonight and they knocked it out of the park

 

NXT had the better stories cuz duh it’s an established brand

the wrestling was better on AEW overall tho

only NXT match id rewatch is obviously Cole and Riddle

 

I haven’t watched NXT yet but it sounds like they had a good show too. I love Finn so anything involving him I’m into. I’m still sad he was the first Universal champ, got hurt, and then they did nothing with him after that. They’ve wasted him

 

Yeah no shit that’s why AEW should have brought the big guns tonight.

One thing I like so far with AEW, and this may change, is that they’re using social media for more promo-like stuff and more action during the actual show to build feuds and establish face/heel.

 

I could definitely tell this when I flipped back and forth from NXT. I almost always flipped to match action instead of a long in-ring promo. They'd be wise to keep that from NJPW where they just flow match to match

The number of times I turn on RAW or SD after my wife goes to bed and I end up in the middle of a 5+ minute promo...
