It was one of I think the top 10 of the year but not record-breaking or anything, plus I think I recall Sony dropping the ball enough on the budget for them to not really make much money.

  2. My guess is it's time traveling Flash. I don't know if the "you were right about him" part is in reference to Supes, my guess though is no.

Agreed. I'm glad that sequence exists because it's a ton of fun, but it's not good for the film.

Though, a version of it could have worked. Like, have Bruce sleeping, show quick flashes of images like a shorter version of the Rey vision in TFA, then he wakes up startled. Then, at the end of the film, show a modified version of the actual sequence at the end, after Diana asked Bruce why they need to assemble the team.

TASM2 made less than the first entry. Both made less than any of the Raimi movies. That's part of why it was abandoned/sold back to Marvel.

@Jason Tate i was thinking about the WW reveal as well. I would've lost my mind sitting in that theater and then hearing as Gal Gadot gets off the plane "Ms. Prince?"

  6. It coulda been so much better. It is almost shocking to me how poorly they put together the trailers and all of that stuff in hindsight.

  7. Agreed. I think it confused a lot of people and they put it in the trailers for god knows what reason.

Yep, I would have done that + and brought in Flash there. And then quick cut the omega symbol and I would have done something to make it more apparently Lex and Darkseid are working together in some capacity as well.

They put it in the trailer for that sweet duster and to make Supes look scary. Does not work at all in the context of the movie though.

It's obvious why this version of Lex is so divisive, but I kind of loved him.

  9. Exactly. And I think it was a bad move. I think it also turned people off. I think they could have edited together a trailer that does not make Superman look scary, but instead hits the highlights: Bruce saw people die, is mad, Superman is trying to make things better, Batman doesn't trust him. They have a fight. Making it seem like Superman is evil or whatever in the trailers was totally the wrong way to go.

Now, in the movie itself I would change a whole lot as well to make it work better. But the trailers, in hindsight, sucked.

I enjoyed this read on Batman v. Superman compared to Kingdom Come

KINGDOM COME, The Comic That Foretold BATMAN V SUPERMAN

Not that I think there isn't room for versions of traditional superheroes either pushed further from their idealistic cores or played close to them or anywhere in-between. But those cores I think should remain, and I hope more of that shines through in the future of the DCU, particularly in the next solo Batman and Superman movies.

I missed the nightmare scene, cuz i was feeding and putting my son to bed, so I felt a bit lost afterwards but i thoroughly enjoyed this for the most part. Definitely need to watch again, although that'll likely be when it hits blu-ray/dvd.

Deleted Scene released from BvS. May contain spoilers for those that haven't seen it.

My copy of Birth.Movies.Death's Batman/Superman commemorative magazine came today. It's pretty wonderful. Great read on Prince and the Batdance, and Mark Waid's "Why Superman Matters" piece is beautiful.

I think they still have some if you wanted to order one, I think it's like $11 total with shipping. A nice item. I'm unsure if I want the Civil War one yet because I've always been a little more invested in DC, with exceptions for Spider-Man and the X-Men. But I really like this one so I might just do it.

I probably shouldn't at this time. I plan on preording the Civil War one with my movie tickets, it's cheaper that way. You get the two pint glasses and magazine for $16 added to the ticket price

Yeah if I had an Alamo Drafthouse near me I'd absolutely do that. Closest one is two hours.

I am surprised it hasn't already been announced that WB is dropping Snyder for the Justice League movie.

This was okay. Not nearly as bad as some are making it out to be, but a movie I'd probably never see again-- and it doesn't bode well for Justice League. My favorite part of the movie was how "comic-y" Batman was. As someone who doesn't read a lot of comics, the Batman I knew best was Nolan's. I thought this take on the character was a lot more fun.

Anyone else have the biggest eyeroll of all time when Little Bruce was lifted up by the bat tornado? So cheesy.
