Not a big fan of managers putting their closers in for two-inning save situations. Rarely ends well.

Say Hader gets through that 8th inning bases loaded jam... do they let him go back out in the 9th?

So is MLB Network free during the playoffs? I used to have it as part of my cable package but years ago it was taken away but today it’s available and I’m pretty sure it was available last year during the playoffs too.

They’ll probably be fine. It’s just an important off-season with Yelich signed for three more years. Grandal is probably gone and so is Moustakas. Piña is good enough to be a starter but Yaz was so valuable to have early in the lineup and idk who they can replace him with. Cain bouncing back will probably help more than anything.

and this is why i never bet baseball. i was bored at work and wanted to put something on the game but what was the bet here? Considering the odds i was getting? Nats to win outright wasn't great odds. I guess under...but the o/u was 7.5. that shit came close too.

I took nats -1.5, but that wasn't a confident bet at all.

    hate it. (obvious answer....dont gamble)

At that point he was at like 27 pitches already. A tough ask to ask your closer to go through that adversity, sit back down for 10-15 minutes then do it again.

Lyles was definitely coming in if they got through that inning. Hader's pitch count was through the roof after he couldn't get Rendon out.

You can kiss my ass until the Preds game starts, putting a temporary halt on the ass kissing, then resume you kissing my ass when the Preds games is over.

  14. What the future of the American ballpark should look like
Fans want to feel that the club has bought into them, and a bolder model of fan engagement could give them a real stake in the club’s success. One of the most promising recent trends in North American sports is the way soccer clubs are emulating their European counterparts by developing dedicated supporters’ groups. These independent organizations drive enthusiasm and energy in the ballpark, and make sure seats stay filled.

Instead of just acknowledging and tolerating the supporter group model, we’re going to encourage and codify it in the park’s architecture by giving over control of entire sections of the ballpark to fans. Rather than design the seating sections and concourse as a finished product, we’ll offer it up as a framework for fan-driven organizations to introduce their own visions.

    Interesting article.

Really great article. I love seeing a completely different line of thinking about ballparks.

One of the reasons I’m so excited for tonight’s game to be at the Coliseum is because A’s fans are loud. They have vuvuzelas, drums, they make a lot of noise and make their presence heard. They create the atmosphere.

Yeah, I love A's games. Stadium is ugly as sin but the fans treat it like a soccer match and have a lot of fun. I remember when Doolittle was there and they would all headbang in unison to his walk-up song.

Julio Teheran left off the division series roster. Damn. Snitker knows what’s up.
