Owel would be cool. I love that band. They are a little less heavy than Gates but come to think of it Gates second album is similar to Owel. Also Kevin Dye helped in the production of Owel's upcoming new album. They deserve more love.

And a band that no one here will know but i could see eventually opening for Citizen and maybe one day Thrice who knows is Heavy Hearts. Canadian band have released 3 eps and their debut album called Bliss came out at the end of June.

I think I'm finished! For those of you who watched my first draft, I added Dust of Nations and Broken Lungs, all while cutting it down a couple minutes. Thanks for the feedback!

I still need about another week break from this. I've taken the last couple weeks from listening to this. I just get so bored with albums after playing them non-stop for a period of time. Then after a month or so break, I'm ready to wear it again just to stop the following week.

I'm not overly impressed with this album tbh. It's good but not really anything special. It feels so safe. No risks were taken. The other problem I have with the album is that there isn't a single song on here that I would consider to be among their best.

I'll always miss the Vheissu/Alchemy Index/Beggars era of this band.

Hey man, we all can't be like you Supporter

1: "...Is Survived by" is a perfect record

2: PBTT/Thrice tour would be CRAZY.

I would pretty much agree, I like all the songs on here enough but only LOVE Black Honey and The Long Defeat. Their discography is so damn good it'd be really hard for anything new to top it lol. I go one step back though and will always miss the Artist/Vheissu/Alchemy Index era of this band.

I like your name btw if it's referencing one of my favorite Green Day songs :-)

Also to add to the young bands/potential opening acts discussion I'd add Safe to Say totally forgot they had a new album coming out soon. I've only heard great things about them live. I've yet to see them but hope to eventually.

Still in love with Black Honey. Thrice singles never resonate with me for this long.

Fun question that I thought of from the post above mentioning singles, what if Thrice put out a greatest hits? What songs do you think would make it?

    I'd go:

    1. Phoenix Ignition
    2. Deadbolt
    3. All that's left
    4. Stare at the Sun
    5. The Artist in the Ambulance
    6. Image of the Invisible
    7. Of Dust of Nations
    8. Red Sky
    9. Firebreather
    10. Digital Sea
    11. Broken Lungs
    12. Come all you weary
    13. All The World is Mad
    14. In Exile
    15. Beggars
    16. Yellow Belly
    17. Promises
    18. Anthology
    19. Blood on the Sand
    20. Black Honey

Left it at 20 songs to make sure it fit on a cd and just kinda left the tracking in order of album release.

I'm gonna go a step further and do a playlist for an "Acoustic Best Of" because that's my dream scenario. Thrice is too against the grain to put out a standard GH record.

Also, how did I just now realize that "The Illusion of Safety" is a line from FIGHT CLUB?

Believe it or not, but Betrayal is a Symptom was the first single off Illusion.

Oh I know that. I had that, the earth will shake, the messenger, ect added but I removed them all to keep it at 20 tracks. Songs like Artist and Beggars aren't Singles, but are important songs in their discography that I added them.

Ah, yes. You specified 20. My mistake. I still can't believe how awful the two Illusion-based music videos were.

Of course, it was a hypothetical question. I think the label typically is in charge of putting out GHs anyway, which would be so hard since they have had 3 different labels right? Sub City, Island and Vagrant?

I'd love you idea though but I'd one up it to Acoustic and Reworkings.
I'd love The Weight, In Exile, Deadbolt, Burn the Fleet, All That's Left, Hurricane and more recorded professionally acoustic since I've heard them all online but with poor quality. I would also love Deadbolt redone with the extended ending with his new voice. I also love when they toured Artist, Cold Cash had a piano bridge and an extended outro. I think an album of half acoustic, half re worked classics would be amazing.

I'm sure you're being sarcastic but definitely not a greatest hits.

    Yeah that's a live album.

That's what I'm saying -- an acoustic Best Of/Complete Rearrangement. Their acoustic arrangements are so different from the original song that it'd sound like new material for the most part. Plus, they'd get to experiment more a la The Alchemy Index. Some songs might have more piano and little to no acoustic.

Add some strings ... holy crap.
