Also, if you haven't played Mini Metro it's by the same developer and just as good, if not better!

 

Finally getting a chance this weekend to dive a bit deeper into iPadOS and try out some of the new features. One I REALLY hope they add in the future for us Smart Keyboard users is the ability to do some type of window shortcuts on the keyboard (just like you can on MacOS with 3rd party apps like Magnet). It would be a dream to be able to activate split view simply by pressing Cntrl+Option and Arrow Key left or right and then select a second app.

I live in Florida and have sweaty hands - the less I touch my iPad Pro screen the better!

 

Anyone have any good wallpapers for iPads or a good repository of them?

So I’m about to start a family sharing plan with my girlfriend. If we do family sharing for Apple Music, will it automatically cancel her subscription so she doesn’t get charged anymore since she’ll be on my plan? Or does she need to cancel her plan then move to mine?

Yeah, it’s a separate cancellation. When I started getting Apple Music from Verizon, it didn’t override my current subscription.

 

I’m pretty sure time is limited on how long you can activate the family subscription before you lose your library too. I know when we did it, my wife switched onto my family plan immediately and didn’t lose her library.

 

Damn, so much more room on the iPad home screen now. I don’t even know what to do with myself! Going to have to rethink everything.

 

Just picked up an S5 to replace my S1. Excited to try it out - oddly I’m not sure I’ll be using the always on display. Kind of like that’s it’s “off” most of the time. S1 takes 10 minutes to do anything though so I’m keen to have everything be quicker.

 

My mom got a S5 and found out she did not like the always-on display. Kind of seems like a polarizing feature so far.

 

Yeah I think I kind of like the privacy of it being off.

I’m guessing notifications don’t flash up on the S5 unless you raise your wrist?

 

Her notifications did not flash up when I was testing it. It will also hide personal information like your activity rings and such when the display is in the low power state.

 

I hope Apple brings back the iPhone 4/5 design style for the phone next year. I haven’t been impressed with a design since that one.

i solved this, posting for anyone who might come across this.

if you fetch Notes via Shortcuts it only accepts one format, the note should have a title header like the image shown below. Older notes are not written that way so Shortcuts couldn’t find them. There might be more to this though, because I remember seeing fetched notes that didn’t have this style.

 

The squared off edges have been rumoured to return for the 2020 models.

I’ve started playing around with the shortcuts app finally after ignoring it for so long - does anyone know if there’s a way to make a shortcut to open a note that automatically scans to the bottom of the page? I.e. if you have a note that’s really long, opening it soo the curser goes automatically to the bottom (which is where you want to input your text) instead of to the top?

 

Append to note will put input at the end.

 

Ah that share music shortcut has to go on my home screen.

I can’t get over how much I love iPadOS. I RARELY use my MacBook now.
