Are you in Tokyo? One of the better Italian Pizza bakers outside of Italy is in Tokyo. I don’t remember the name, but he’s featured in the Pizza episode of Ugly Delicious on Netflix. Not the one that makes Japanese fusion pizza, the other one.

I’ll look into that and save it! Got a lot of places saved on google maps for when I do visit certain areas. At the moment I’m in Kagawa on Shikoku, so the nearest cities to me are Okayama, Hiroshima, Osaka and Kyoto. Tokyo is much further east, but once I move to Osaka next year I’ll have access to the bullet train and can speed on over to Tokyo no problem.

I fully believe that they make amazing pizza and I’ll watch the Netflix episode, but from my experiences thusly, even a slightly decent pizza is godly in comparison to what I’ve stomached so far haha.

 

Oh yeah trust me I believe you, if the average Japanese pizza is on the same level as the average Dutch sushi then it must be pretty bad lol

 

Hahaaa, I paid like £20 for one from a takeaway near me. It looked fine (but wasn’t). Then the guy sprinkled seaweed over it. I wanted to cry. I couldn’t communicate I wasn’t pleased, didn’t want to offend him and just figured I’d peel it off. Turns out the taste of seaweed is revolting and pungent and it taints everything it touches.

Also Dutch and sushi are not words that belong together, true hahaha.

The curries here are amazingggg but their Indian curries erm...yeah. As you’d expect haha. I’ve never been to India, but British Indian food is fucking glorious. So I’ve got this unreasonable bar set. American Indian food disturbed my soul in the worst way.

 

The Netherlands are a seafood country too but somehow 90% of the sushi is horrid. There’s some brilliant Indonesian and Surinamese food though.

 

I actually don’t think I’ve ever tried any of the latter! What’s that usually consist of? Indonesian I’m imagining to be a lot of dry spices and fresh produce? Can’t speak for the other. I’ve been enjoying Taiwanese and Thai food a lot here though.

re-playing Bloodborne in all it's glory is probably one of the first things I'll do once I eventually get that PS4 Pro.

 

Literally did that last month. Forgot to start the DLC though so I have to play through that still. Hadn’t ever finished it but my gf got a guide up and talked me through the boss fights haha

Surinamese food, like their culture, is like a mix of South American, Caribbean, Indian, African and Indonesian. It really mostly just exists in Suriname and the Netherlands (Suriname was a Dutch colony) though. Indonesian food is absolutely amazing. It’s hard to explain. It’s somewhere between Indian, Thai and Chinese. It’s a huge cuisine. There’s a lot of it here because, again, colonialism.

 

Haa I’m pretty damn lucky, she’s something else. While that’s cute however, she wasn’t quite so patient with Sekiro and said I should just not play it hahahah. God I suck at it Sekiro...

It’s great watching her play GTA cos she’s scared to scratch her car and drives like an 80 year old. We’re playing Undertale together lately!

 

how is Undertale? I watched some stuff about it but I never quite *got* it. The battles are like weird, no?

 

I need me some of all of that. In my last job I was writing about all these cuisines and it’s all gone out of my head. Was working for a high-end travel company and basically doing all their copy. Consisted of painstakingly researching every destination and writing pieces as though I’d been there. I’d be drooling at all the images of food haha.
