Oh. That's not what I meant by completed. Most demos don't have everything musically there, but even when they do the production quality and mix (and usual lack of a master) make it feel incomplete still. There's a reason the demos weren't supposed to leak basically, so I'm excited to see the finished, fully produced versions of all the songs from the leak.

 

oh, i think I misunderstood then. But I think that Good Man benefits from being basically just an acoustic song, and the mix on that isn't (to my ears) particularly lacking. Do you think it'd be better full band or is it a production thing you'd want corrected?

 

Production. I musically love it as is, though it could be interesting to hear it made into a full band thing I suppose.

I think I confused myself on what I was talking about. Brothers is the one being released complete and that's what I was talking about. I don't really know what they'd do with a song that is less than 2 minutes (Goodman) other than get better recordings and a cleaner mix.

 

Brothers is also Aloc-Acoc, right? What are the differences in the different versions of that song??

 

Aloc-acoc is electric, and has some ambient sounds in the background.

 

I think this might be the only Brand New song I haven't actually listened to. So the Brothers that's a b side to Jesus, same as the demo but with better production or??

I just listened to it, I definitely prefer Brothers. I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I saw "completely different lyrics" but here we are hah

 

I kinda just skimmed both quick and paid no attention to lyrics. Goddamn it. I honestly don't know why these songs are considered the same then. Same melody or something?

I lost my mind seeing that Mene and Out of Range are going to be on vinyl. This is all too much. And the fact Banquet have a date and time for when it's available is an absolute miracle. Won't need to bunk work for it now. Probably still will.

 

I had a heart attack when I saw that because I thought that meant preorders and I was too late. But everything is copacetic and I actually am not totally sure what to do with this total transparency.

 

Yeah it was the first thing I saw when I woke up. My stomach sunk and I prepared for imminent sadness haha. I'm so happy they're being informative for once, especially with the U.K. orders. Fingers crossed this carries over to the LP and they're this good about that too.

HOWEVER - more releases lessen the likelihood of album info soon...no? Seems unlikely they'd announce an album amidst all these IAAN and demo vinyls, one of which they didn't even announce properly

 

Nah. I mean, maybe depending on how you wanna define soon, but it's been seven years since Daisy, so waiting even the rest of the year seems like not a lot of time in comparison. And there was supposed to be another single iirc, so...soon seems like the right word to me.
