According to midweek figures, the pop punk legends' latest album is on track to debut inside the top ten and will make a run for top spot against likely contenders, Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding and Taylor Swift's Lover, as well as Liam Gallagher's new LP, Why Me? Why Not?., which is also aiming for a top ten finish.

How does one person obtain a demo like that ? Like does said person who knew the band personally at one point ?

Sounds like that's pretty much it. One of the guys who has it used to work for the band, and another person who has it used to make their websites in the early days.

 

Neighborhoods debuted at #2 with 151,000 copies sold.

there's no good reason why demos of an album that came out 22 years ago should be kept from fans.

 

Definitely was number 2, J Cole was number 1. J Cole showed up on Mark's Fuse show and they made a joke about it.

 

Maybe the band doesn't want it out? Fans don't inherently deserve to hear it just because they want to.

 

Definitely bragging rights. If they wanted to leak it they could have done it anonymously without telling everyone they have it. The band didn’t care that their other demos were released and its not like the band themselves will ever release them.

 

I absolutely agree ! Usually the person is in it for a money grab. Shit, I wish bands would release demos.

I realize how harsh that comes off so whoops, but my point is maybe the guy simply is holding it back because the guys didn't like how it sounded. Clearly, they didn't like some element of it or it wouldn't have been just a demo.
