AFC fans will know better than me of course, but IMO I feel like Ceballos can do both 8 & 10 - he is another in a long line of Spanish midfielders that are adept at playing more than one role as a CM, and if he is the offensive one in a 4-3-3 for example he can be an 8/10 hybrid and be the link higher up the pitch depending on how the game is unfolding as the other two can cover him. A new winger rather than Lacazette/Aubameyang playing from the LW position would help - Ozil played LW a long time ago but I think his time in the PL is coming to an end - further to what you said about Emery disliking him, after the attack he & Kolasinac suffered you would not blame him for moving on.

  2. It looks like Troy Parrott is starting the cup match today. Very excited to watch this kid play. He had a great preseason and has continued that form in the youth squad,

  4. This ref apparently left his yellow card at home

Colhester are just dragging our guys down when they’re beat and not getting any kind of punishment

  5. Wanyama is so bad now

  6. Eriksen is also shit

Dier, Wanyama, Sanchez should never see the pitch again

  7. Poch should leave after this game. His players have been shit. He deserves better.

  8. Can't score a goal against a bottom tier team

  9. Eriksen gets his penalty blocked. He can fuck off. No one wanted you this summer.

  11. Spurs deserved to lose that game. They fucking suck. I hope all of them get shit on by the media and fans of every other club forever.

  12. And I take back what I said about Poch deserving better....

We played a bottom tier side and he started 3 at the back, 2 holding mid, and a 17 year old striker making his first start. How was he expecting goals to be created?

    hmmm

Spurs wasted all their non-Spursiness on getting to the Champions League final. Back to default Spurs now.

it’s only the carabao cup lads

  19. The form for the last 8 months has been awful. Outside of a miracle run to the CL Finals it's been a disaster.

Yeah it hasn’t been just one game. They’ve looked dreadful before this as well.

  23. I wish we were losing this on purpose lol

Poch brought on Eriksen and Son at the 65th minute. He wanted to win this game. I’m so disappointed in 90% of the players on this team right now.

It's early but I've seen very little evidence Ceballos he can play as a 10 and a lot of his best attributes are much better suited to playing as an 8. His quick feet and dribbling ability can break a press and his late runs aren't marked as an 8. also, his passing ability from deep can find whoever is playing as a 10 between the lines and free up space for the forwards. Playing as a 10 he hasn't looked right, but that could also be more to do with Emery's system as we seemingly have very little control over games in the midfield. I put most of the offensive/systemic deficiencies down to Emery, as he doesn't really have a specific offensive system. I think he inherently wants to sit deeper, turn over teams with high work-rate and ball winers, then play on the break with excellent forwards. Not my choice of how I'd like to see Arsenal play. Özil is a real conundrum for him because he would knit together the front line perfectly but he won't play him over a personal vendetta, as I suspect he's trying to run him out of the club by making him unhappy in never starting.
Team looks very off right now in general, early days though
    Bayern are hysterical lol
