Hey-oh! I’m 1 for 2 on those predictions now.

 

The prelims as well as these main card fights are delivering! Super impressed by Irene Aldana, she just put in work against Melo.

 

With the lack of talk about Usman/Covington, I’m really starting to believe that Jones will fight someone that doesn’t deserve a title shot.

or they’re praying someone on 244 wins within seconds and doesn’t take damage

 

Lol I’ve never seen an eye poke stoppage so fast I don’t think. Can’t believe this fight is over like that.

 

This would be fucking devastating if the fight is called off.

Oh man. I almost rushed home from dinner to catch this fight. Glad I did not.

 

I’m the complete opposite. Am going to be late to lunch with friends because I stayed home to watch!

 

lol i had a family thing tonight and I went way out of my way to do everything possible to avoid spoilers.

Sat down in front of my tv and thought "I can't believe i avoided spoilers for this!" and said out loud to myself "I'm so fucking pumped"

all for nothing. Oh my god.

 

Also extremely nice to see Herb do such a great job handling everything there after his recent slump.

 

I had a conversation last night with friends after the card about the question "who's your favorite fighter or who do you think is the best ever?" from a friend who doesn't follow MMA. My roommate and I do, and we debated a while until we decided to say who we think the best ever is for each individual weight class. Picks are below, and i'm curious for all of yours.

I'm kind of indifferent towards that decision honestly. The only real downside I see right now is that Ngannou has to sit back and wait if they really are making the rubber match.

I don't really see what a win does for either guy though (other than to claim bragging rights), but I guess if it's important for DC to attempt to not go out on a loss then why not?

 

It's definitely extremely personal to him, I don't think he is worried about his legacy at all

 

I don’t like the fight because (if) DC wins and he’s certain about retiring then he’s just going to vacate the belt and Stipe/Francis would fight for it anyway.

 

And if he wins and chooses not to retire to defend the belt he’s looking at fighting Francis. And even though that’s a fight he could win, I’d rather not see him go out unconscious.
