    House of Protect Ron.

I'd be way on board with Ariel Rechtshaid or Butch Vig. Either would be wild! I'd also be interested in a Ric Rubin song/album. Feldman is more of a peer, it would be cool to see someone in a different league with the keys to the car the way it was with Jerry Finn.

Still would love at least an EP with Bill Stevenson.

It is actually pretty solid. Reminds me of the stitching you find on most polos (I have several from American Eagle and they remind me of that). The fabric on the polo itself is a little thinner than some of my other ones and the collar is a bit flimsy. I got a small and the fit is fine. Heres a closer pic of the logo.

First impressions: I really enjoy Run Away, Black Rain, Pin The Grenade, No Heart To Speak Of, On Some Emo Shit, and Remember To Forget Me

There's a good amount of filler in here that isn't for me, but I'm sure others will grow on me as I listen more closely. I'm definitely happy to enjoy any new blink songs :)

so I made a reworked playlist to try to change the pacing of the album just slightly, and to make the half-time chorus utilization on this record a little less noticable, and I love sequencing and trying to find the perfect sequencing

    let me know your thoughts!

There's definitely overdubbing on some of the drum effects, Matt's guitar during verses of Miss You, and tracks of backing vocals here and there. I didn't watch the vid live though so I'm only 90% sure.

I'm trying to first do a draft where I don't cut any songs, then work from there

I think they really should have had Darkside as the second track, missed opportunity there to set the tone early

    Some other thoughts on pacing:

I also placed No Heart to Speak of before Remember to Forget Me as the outro leads into the closer really well, almost as if we're winding down. Also the melody halfway through sounds like a callback to the melody of No Heart

Happy Days into Generational Divide is funny in a meta way, and would be a much better fast "joke"song in that spot

    On my first listen.

Just got to No Heart to Speak Of and hot damn Matt! Really loved that chorus.

I will have to check it out. The sound mix was pretty bad watching it live so hopefully they fixed some of those issues in the YT video.

I think the BroolynVegan review sum's up my thoughts after 3 full listens really well:

"Matt sounds like he’s finally figured out how to have his own voice in blink-182, especially on the post-punk leaning “Darkside,” on the very Alkaline Trio-sounding “Black Rain,” and with his post-hardcore roar on “No Heart To Speak Of.” And Mark also sounds more comfortable and more natural on this one. There’s a nostalgic warmth to his voice, and it contrasts well with his ability to tap back into the slightly darker side of his songwriting. The production is still a little too clean for comfort, but the band — especially Mark and Travis — mostly sound more human than they did on the robotic California."

Read More: review: on ‘Nine,’ blink-182 swore they’d be better than the last time | review: on 'Nine,' blink-182 swore they'd be better than the last time

The part about the vocals is so dead on. Mark sounded like such a robot on California that it was distracting. I already like NINE so much more than California.

    Things have changed.

Feldmann did a good job on this one, but there are still parts that feel too cannibalizing of California ("Heaven" is pretty similar to "Bored to Death," and it's especially noticeable in the gated guitar with solo vocal right before the last chorus, just like they did on "Bored to Death").

Also, some of these songs feel like they end very abruptly.

I think Matt's vocals sound more robotic than Mark's on this album and it's a bit of a weird contrast to me, but something I can live with

My least favorite critique in music is saying an album sounds too clean.

It’s 2019. What Does Blink-182 Want to Say?

Hoppus looks back at those early days with fondness—“There was a real unity of spirit in the band; [it’s] when the band found itself,” he says—but knows just how much of a hit Blink took when DeLonge left, in particular. The former member’s signature nasal whine—prominent on hits like 2003’s “I Miss You”—added a singular factor to all of their songs; after DeLonge left, the group struggled. “When Tom was in the band, that’s when Blink did its best work,” Hoppus says. “Now post-Tom, with Matt in the band, we’re approaching songs differently.” He also insists there’s no bad blood between the former bandmates: “I talked with Tom for the first time in two years right before we started this tour,” he says. “The conversation was more about us just telling each other, ‘No hard feelings. You do your thing, we’ll do our thing.’ It’s all good.”

I wish Mark Trombino still produced albums. Would love to hear him team up with this version of Blink.

This has been my review that I’ve just been copy and pasting to friends who’ve asked (and to those who didn’t ask as well lol)

“It’s sooo good! If California was them playing it safe while testing the waters with a new frontman/guitarist.

This Record is them going all in, they’ve really come into their own as this new iteration. Skiba doesn’t hold back. Just all around a more confident sounding record”
