"Blame It On My Youth", and "Pin The Grenade" are tops for me

I feel like the odd one out for Pin the Gernade not really clicking yet

  4. Listen to the chorus and imagine a huge house party scene from a teen movie made in the early 2000s. That should help!

How’s the quality of the fabric and stitching of the logo? Held off on this as I’ve not been confirdent in the new company and their fabrications of other things. Does it run small? Looking to get one to wear at work on casual Fridays.

Whenever Happy Days comes on all I can think about now is that Genius lyric analysis video Mark did where they had him breakdown the chorus and I just can't not laugh at that now.

I liked this review in general, but there's one thing they mentioned that I 1000% disagree with, and that is the author of the article wishing that Blink would make a record with Will Yip. No. Just no. I do not like Will Yip's tin-can production style at all and it would do a band like Blink a major disservice to work with a producer like that. There are muchhhhh better producers to make a raw-sounding Blink-182 album still sound great. Will Yip is not one of those.

I like Yip but him and Blink would be an awful fit lol

  9. After getting what I've wanted from a production and sound standpoint in a Blink album for the first time in 15 years the idea of them working with Will Yip feels like a personal troll job meant to hurt me and I do not appreciate anyone putting that out into the world.

Between Travis’ drumming and some angsty Skiba vocals I think No Heart might be my favorite next to The First Time. This album is everything I want blink to be.

So how many more singles do we think they put out? I'm thinking maybe two.

I would hope Pin The Grenade is one of them

The honeymoon phase with NINE is a strong one for me. Strongest since TOYPAJ that I can remember.

Untitled had to grow on me, but still think I was into it way more 10 years ago than I am today. I’ve gotta be in the mood to listen to it now. Still love The Cure influence though.

Neighborhoods has had a steady appreciation from me and I’d say it gets more playtime from me than Untitled. It’s still all over the place.

I thought half of CA and half of CA DLX made a fun comeback album for the band. BTD and Sober are two of their best songs ever, imo. Also think the title track is their worst song ever written. I just don’t like it haha.

NINE is strong front to back. Its like they took elements from TOYPAJ and Untitled and modernized it.

The emo shit bridge —> end of the song scratches a blink itch that I’ve had since untitled

Yeah that is a very bad hot take. I love Will Yip for what he does but that would be dumb and Blink would never do that. I would be pretty interested to hear Matt Squire produce a Blink album. Still a radio-friendly guy but not a co-writing machine. Seems very good at pulling the best out of bands that have very strong individual personalities.

Do you want more Feldman albums or do you have any good hot takes on future producers? Do you think an album without a producer is possible now that Tom is gone and the band seems to really enjoy collaborating together in the studio?

I never even got a notification that my pre-order shipped and it just randomly showed up today lol. The hot splatter looks awesome in person and I still have a cd and cassette copy coming in the mail too.

Also just want to throw it out there about how stoked I was to get a text message form blink-183 saying NINE is out now. Lol

  23. I'm fine with them working with lots of different people and Feldmann being the overarching overseer/executive producer if it keeps resulting in albums like this. My "hot take" on who I would want producing a Blink album has been Ariel Rechtshaid for years now. Because I want them to keep going in that direction. Butch Vig, Gil Norton, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Chris Testa are other names that would be cool to EP an album.

I trust the band members when they say they don't want to do that because they feel it doesn't bring out the best in them, and they specifically want to talk to others in the process, and I definitely trust that in regard to self-producing an album. I rarely think self-produced albums work and sound as strong as those with someone acting as a "no" or guiding voice in the process.

Ariel Rechtshaid would be great and easily result in their best post reunion album. Not sure his drum tones would work with Travis though.
