Blink is but drake isn't? Other way around

Edit: I'm joking people. Of course neither of them are.

Also, it's a shame so many Drake/hip-hop fans are shitting on blink in those comments after all the love Travis gives that scene.

I saw blink tour with Green Day when I was in single digits, and it's been probably something like 15 years since that show at this point. I was just getting into going to shows when they broke up, so I saw Angels & Airwaves right on their first couple shows in MI, but never got the opportunity even to check into blink again until that reunion tour, where I kind of just didn't care to see them at the time. I wasn't interested in buying lawn seats for $20 and I knew Tom's vocal performance wasn't worth $60+ to get good seats --- this was at a time where I was working a minimum wage job as well, hell, I may not even have had a job yet when the first round of touring came about!

This time around, I jumped at the opportunity to buy blink tickets. I was REALLY disappointed when ticketmaster/livenation/whatever didn't let me buy pit tickets even though I started my search for tickets literally at the 10 AM presale start time... but I am going to be in pretty decent seats, so I cannot wait.

My hope is that the tour has a lot of newer songs, and that they try to condense some of the older hits. I hope they don't take Neighborhoods completely out of the set - even if it's just Up All Night, Matt kills it on that song live.

  6. It's fair to criticize the stagnant set list, but I never regret dropping $100 bucks to see them

I think "Up All Night" is a song where the contrast between Tom and Mark's voices really shines. There is no contrast between Mark and Matt's voices, so it doesn't really work as well with them.

I pay that kind of money at least twice a year to go to a regular season NFL game. Probably more after concessions, parking, etc. Once I realized this, I jumped on tickets.

  9. It was around $100 after fees for pit to their show in Camden in August. I just saw them last month at a smaller venue and it was still around $85 after fees.

Idk that chorus live with Tom always sounded godawful to me. I haven't enjoyed that song live til now, even then it's kind of a boring song for them to play imo.

haha I didn't go lawn. I did GA. The only people in front of me were Pit people. Lawn people were behind and I assume they paid $10. But i guess things changed in the 15 years since I saw them.

One of my biggest regrets ever....not seeing the Midtown, NFG, Blink tour....I was just a tad too young. My first time seeing them was Pop Disaster. Still pretty fucking awesome first concert ever in middle school:

    June 15th, 2002
    Simple Plan
    Saves The Day
    Green Day
    Blink

I still have ping pong balls and confetti that came out at the end of Dammit stored away in a ziploc bag in my safe with my ticket stub.

    Everywhere you look... Prestigious

I'm glad you brought this up. There is a contrast between Mark and Matt's voices, but it's not terribly substantial. I think one of the weaknesses of California comes from Matt failing to justify his participation in the project. After multiple listens I am just not sure what Matt was brought in to do. Aside from hit a few notes that Mark couldn't of, I don't know what he did that Mark couldn't have done himself.

Seeing blink with Alkaline Trio and Sum 41 in a pretty small place, the Worcester Palladium right before TOYPAJ came out is pretty hard to top for me.

Shit ya...only thing that may top my first time ever seeing them on Pop Disaster Tour could be me seeing them on Dolla Bill tour at a House Of Blues Chicago.

The show was on November 13th, the album had leaked and I already was trying to memorize the songs. The album didn't officially drop until November 18th. I remember Mark gave away his bass to the girl RIGHT NEXT to my sister who took me to the show...that bee hotch should have been mine.

I was at that one in Chicago too! Also singing along to the leaked Untitled songs, haha. This was my first blink show.

I found out about that show the day after it happened. I was like... HOW. How did I miss this. I was also only a freshman in high school.

  22. Is there any way to see if Neighborhoods had, or will have, a jump in sales now that California is #1? Wondering if any of their older albums will get a small boost.

Dope! That's awesome haha, it was my second time seeing them. I'll need to look and see if I can find some pics tonight from that show, would be funny if you were in one haha

I wish I had seen this. My best show combinations were:

My Chem and Blink in 2011

Taking back Sunday, My Chem, and Linkin Park in 2007

  25. I've never seen Alkaline Trio live, which is a huge regret of mine. I really should have gone to their full album shows last year.
