its 12/4. He confirmed it at riot and i posted a screen shot MO put on their story of the METN tour in the Chicago and Riot fest threads and it had the Chi date. I am assuming it hasnt been announced because they were waiting for riot to end.

Ohhh okay dope, thank you!!! Unfortunately there's no way I can swing a weeknight show up there, but oh well. This is why I'm moving up there :crylaugh:

Imo touring packages should always be 3 bands but bands of this stature should really try and add a local opener to the bill to help cultivate local scenes. bums me out that it isn’t really a common practice.

In my experience, whenever local bands are offered opening slots on tours like this, there is usually an insane pre-sale ticket amount required and it usually ends up being a pay to play scenario, so its not always an easy feat for local bands with leas notoriety to accomplish.

That’s fair, I suppose, but pay to play also needs to die and I feel like harder stances need to be taken there but that’s another problem for another day. I’m just sensitive bc I’m a struggling musician lol

oh absolutely, it's a shitty practice that I don't unfortunately foresee ever changing where I'm from (Long Island). I was in a band for 6 years and maybe a handful of times got on shows where we didn't have a pre-sale requirement. We probably spent, in that 6 years, thousands of dollars out of our own pockets to cover the money we needed to give promoters in order to take the stage.

The one experience i was specifically referencing, due to mutual friends/promoters, we were offered an opening slot on the hometown show of an (at the time) very popular long island band that was out supporting their new album. We had to sell 100 ticket at $20/piece. 5 college aged guys were responsible for coming up with $2,000. Competing against people who already bought tickets online through the band themselves, even if we hustled our asses off, we likely were going to have to spend over $1,000 of our own money to get that 25min. slot to whoever showed up for doors. Saying no was a bummer but it just wasnt realistic at all for us.
