I mean, I don't really care. I guess I just think it's funny that this thread goes through the same predictable cycle with each new blink-182 release lol.

Thank God for Matt Skiba! He crushes it on this album! I still can't get over No Heart to Speak Of and Run Away!

Unless any album from any band is remarkably bad, this is the cycle for like … any album.

There’s so much going on in the album it’s hard to process but I’m excited to pick it apart

What is the length of the album?

  7. Someone said that California was the band trying to write an album that sounds like blink, and this album was the "okay, we did that, now let's write whatever comes naturally" type of record and that sounds accurate to me

I mean this with all respect, and not trying to be an ass. You clearly only like untitled, and have written this album off before it’s even released. So what enjoyment does this thread bring to your life? I never understood why people post in threads of things they think are trash. Wouldn’t you rather post in a thread where you love the band and it’s music?

What..? No it isn't? Plenty of albums stand the test of time. blink's last two albums definitely haven't.

I'll give this album a listen at some point. Just because I'll have a less positive mindset going into it than some of the fanboys here, I don't think I should be banished from this thread...

  15. Listening to the album without the singles mixed in so I can focus on these 10 brand new ones.

I can't wait to crank this in my car, guys! There's sooo much cool stuff happening in each song. This is already an amazing album, but it's also going to be a grower. Can't wait to dissect this over time.

I in no way meant to imply you should be ‘banished’. I was legitimately curious.

This is an opinion though. Not fact.

The S/T was one of my favourite albums when I was a teenager and into my early twenties. I don't listen to it so much anymore but I still have a lot of nostalgia attached to that album. I guess that's why I find myself in this thread from time to time.

Yep, everything I post is just my opinion.

Once again, this is just the worst time to have a friggin job where I have zero ability to listen to music. Damn you guys!

On some emo sh*t is my favorite on first run. Pleasantly surprised to find a few tracks I liked given my feelings on the singles.

I am commenting just on the fact that is not just a "blink thing" when an album comes out from any band, the fan base gets very excited and will overhype how good an album is because it is new. Then months later they come down from the new album high and then will form maybe a different lesser opinion. This is how it works for literally any album.

You not liking blink albums doesn't mean the majority of blink fans also don't like blink albums and hate them all after 6 months.

  24. I was expecting NINE to be on par with California, honestly. I had pretty low-ish expectations. Definitely more realistic ones than ever before when it comes to this band. But NINE is immediately more creative, fresh, modern, not catering to a particular fan base, and it's not trying to rehash the past just to prove that they could still write songs that sound like Enema of the State. The guitars sound beefier than California's did, and the production is general is just massive on each song. There's so many little things going on in each song too which already makes it feel more timeless than California. California was very surface level. Like, what you hear is what you get, if that makes sense. But this one has so many guitar things going on, piano, cool beats, atmospheric sounds, etc. Just a lot more to digest, so it definitely has room to be a grower too. It's very reminiscent of Untitled, in that way. Anyway, you'll probably think it's trash anyway, but I'm just saying... my expectations were low and they've been blown out of the water. This is such a nice fresh breath of life for the band.

The point is more... What is our reaction supposed to be if it really is good? You've already said, with 100% certainty, that any praise is over-selling it and that it probably "sucks like the last two"....so what are we supposed to say about it?
