You'll need to listen to it at least two more times to confidently post your discography rankings that will likely consume this thread by the afternoon.

Fucking-A...when Ransom finally kicks in....My heart explodes. I love that they kept this and Generational Divide on the album.

Can someone who has it PM me? Already having a rough morning and this would be a pick-me-up. (I pre-ordered it so they've already got my money)

I'm generally not a fan of having effects on Travis' drums (like always questioned why there's an effect on the drum roll in Wishing Well, because its Travis), but when used on this album they fit perfectly.

    Diving in.... Already digging this.

  8. Travis' drumming, Skiba's vocals, Mark's lyrics, and the HUGE production really makes this album stand out.

And there's actually some guitar riffs! Finally!

I do not like the verses of Run Away at all.

Only on Heaven at the moment, but the guitar tone is meatier as well. It actually sounds like a tube amp rather than some digital tone that California had throughout.

How did "Pin The Grenade" not make the single cut?

It 100% is. I'm pretty sure the reaction to California was the same before everyone eventually soured on it

Initial impression of this album is that it's refreshing to not know where the songs are heading like with California. They keep you on your toes. Oh, and also it's nice to hear them let the songs breathe and not force the vocals into every tiny space available. haha.

I'll definitely admit that I'm kicking myself for doubting that they would actually hit Untitled levels of creativeness. This is great. It's dark, it sounds like blink, they're mixing up the trading vocals more creatively and unpredictably.

    cool dogs

speaking for myself, i felt legitimate disappointment on first listen of California after loving both BTD and Rabbit Hole prior to its release, i was so stoked for its release but as the album went on, by the time i got to like Teenage Satellites, i just knew that it was a record i wasn't going to love, and 3 years on i still feel pretty much the same about it - same with the deluxe.

there's a couple songs on Nine i'm not super stoked on but overall i think it's a massive jump, Skiba's more comfortable in the band, and whether you like the end results or not, experimentation should always be welcomed. don't have any problem calling this album their best material with Skiba with yet.

I don't know how you could possibly predict how anyone is going to feel about this album in 6 months. People are excited about it and digging it. Even if it only lasts a little while, it's fine. Just be happy for them.

Skiba absolutely kills it on the album.
