Feel sorry for the people in rural areas. The commercial district a mile from my house has probably 20+ pokestops and at least 3 gyms within a really condensed area.

 

I got a Cloyster and Psyduck from the water. I think they have water pokemon by water on purpose?

 

There's a park near my house that has 1 pokestop, a commercial center a mile away with 5 stops and a gym, and another mile from there is the park I work at where there's 3 or 4 gyms and another probably 10 stops. That's all I've found.

 

Yeah there's hardly anything around me. Probably would be more if I actually went into Dallas but this hasn't been the week for that

 

It's amazing what this app has led me to Google. The local mall, every Home Deport, Walmart, and Target all have free wifi. Time to go scout out some places this week because my data plan sucks. From what little I've been able to play, my collection of Pokemon is absolutely nothing to write home about.

It's also uncanny how many Pidgeys appear when I open the app while pooping.

 

I knew there was a poke stop right next to my work at the Burger King. I get off work and check it out and the servers are down. I proceed to go to the library like 2 streets down because there is a pokestop there also and wait a bit. 20 minutes later and the servers are still down. I hate/love this game so much.

 

Keep seeing Pinscer silhouette but nothing to be found yet. Someone that was controlling a local gym earlier had Aerodactyl, which is sick. My eggs have been trash so far. Everything that's hatched has been just one of the Pokemon easily available in my area. Squirtle was my favorite find of the day.

I didn't make it out but found a lot of Psyducks, Goldeens and Magicarps on the harbor.

 

Of course as soon as I unload from vacation I leave for a walk and it freezes one block from my house... And now servers are busy. Eff this

 

I go to my final location of my trip back home and it's my local park. There are a good 9 Pokemon here so I use a incense to help out. The servers proceed to go down right after I use it. I want to rage so much.

 

Was hoping for a glitch or two to allow it to work on a airplane, no dice haha.

 

Servers are so shit

 

I've only lost one incense to that so far... Still annoying though.

I still haven't been able to hatch any of my eggs though as it keeps cutting out when I leave for walks.

 

Can someone with some basic tech knowledge explain why it takes so long for servers to get back up, and what goes into putting them back online?

 

My friend just hatched a 989 Snorlax out of a 10km egg lol fuck me.

 

My friend did the same thing, essentially. It hatched at like CP600 and it had so much candy and stardust he powered it to 990.

 

O.M.G.

 

I think that must be what happened here too, because the screenshot they sent me showed it having 0 candy and that wouldn't have happened if it just hatched.

 

Finally get off work for a few days and I'm ready to explore this app... Servers down.

 

I can only find bug, grass & small bird Pokemon almost everywhere I go. Might try a different park tomorrow but I"m worried that it's going to be more of the same. There's been water types nearby but I haven't come across them yet.

 

The game uses barely any data at all, if that makes you feel any better. 70 MB only after 3 days for me.

 

Finally made it to the gym and someone is absolutely camped out here

 

I've yet to take over a gym simply because the game glitches in some for every time

 

I got my ass completely handed to me tbh. I clearly need to prepare more next time, haha.

 

So I'm at level 6 and I've only been catching Pokémon. No gym battles yet. And my first 5k egg has not hatched. Can someone tell me if there's any strategy to evolving pokemon? Do I power up first like in Gameboy days? Are they only ever going to know two moves? I'd like to know if any of the moves are passive to, because then I'd transfer that pokemon.
