Idaho is pretty but then once you cross into southern BC (Canada) the nature gets twice as epic. Like, holy shit. The mountains, forests and rivers all get way more intense right across that border.

The best part is, being an American citizen, you get into Canada immediately but then coming back across that line your car is getting searched for drugs (or maybe just mine did cause I’m POC). It was fucking bizarre to be an American citizen, with a very blatant mainstream American accent, and a military ID that is impossible to forge, and they still looked for ANY EXCUSE to not believe that I was American

They almost didn’t let me in, despite still having my teenage military ID (from Dad being in the Navy), because my passport had a typo on it. Wild shit. I had to jump through some serious hoops to get back in my own country (and this is well before Trump / ICE)
