Unrelated to most things in here, but there are SEVERAL handfuls of tweets regarding Post Malone's new album out there either praising Post for "Putting Ozzy Osbourne on the map," or saying "Idk who Ozzy is but he's about to blow up."

I think I did die a little bit inside.

An old friend randomly asked if I want to see Bury Your Dead and Upon a Burning Body. I’m not a huge metal fan, but I’ll give it a go.

 

I saw UABB recently and while I'm not super into deathcore anymore, they put on a fun show.

 

I know everyone told me to see King Gizzard last night, but I have nostalgia for M.O.D., and the KG tickets were $50 while M.O.D. was $10 (though the door guy let me in for free for some reason)

Anyway, M.O.D. kicked ass. Billy told all sorts of great stories, impersonated Scott Ian, roasted the crowd, etc... He was hilarious. Go catch them if they come to your city.

I'd kind of fallen off Slipknot since Iowa or mayyybe Vol 3, but I saw them last night and they still know how to make 20,000 people jump and scream for 90 straight minutes.

 

New album is great

 

Spiders might be one of the best songs Slipknot has ever released.

They didn't. I think they only played 2 songs from the new album, which is kind of a bummer, but they have so many hits that almost every song was a single in the 90 minute set.

 

New album is pretty good. Definitely their best since Iowa, but absolutely does not touch Iowa. White hot take, I'm sure

 

Their self titled was definitely a gateway album getting me into metal. No shame.

the drumming & sampling are awesome

Imo the first three records are all great, and bring something interesting to the table.
