Darkside is easily one of Blinks best songs.

 

Happy Days is my favorite of the new songs.

 

All the new songs are quite bad imo. I'll stick with the self-titled

 

I listened to the new song once, I don't want to get burnt out but on first listen I liked it but I feel like this is a song I'll need to listen to more to really let it to sink in kind of like HISALP.

 

I love it too, but I think it was just strange to release such a short song so early (second song released).

Like, if I would have heard it in the context of the album I would have thought it was an awesome little surprise. But I guess getting us hyped up for a new song that turned out to be :49 was just an odd context to hear it in. I don't know.

 

yrs! It’s great! Just far less interesting to me than the others.

 

Just looking back at old tours here's the break down of new songs from the albums they would play while touring that album:

EOTS - 9
TOYPAJ - 11 (9 during the Pop Disaster Tour)
Untitled - 9 or 10 depending on the show
Neighborhoods - 4 to 5 (once DED dropped that played 2 songs off that album)
California - 6 to 8

 

GD has the best music video.

Darkside is the best new song so far.

I think it’s weird how BIOMY did well on charts but there’s no music video or other push that I’ve seen.

We’ll see how IRWIHY goes.

Even though i really like the new songs, nothing sticks out as a single the way Bored To Death did.

 

Tom did a mini-medley of blink/boxcar and i'm really appreciating Skiba Season.

 

Has Darkside charted at all?

I love the video for it so much.

 

Darkside would be perfect if they switched up the chorus lyrics just once at the end when it plays 3 times in a row. Gets pretty grating by that point for me

 

I don't even know what half of the comments in the news post about the song mean.

YouTube has like 10x more racism and more spelling errors.

Yeah I feel like blind, anti-pop bias is really skewing people's arguments on this one. The only way I can see condemning IRWIHY as artistically dishonest while championing "She's Out of Her Mind" and similar is to measure authenticity purely by the volume of the guitar tracks.

...which is crazy

Is it bad that I almost got anxious watching him play those songs?

I don't know why, but I felt worried. Like I was concerned he was going to butcher those songs as if he was unfamiliar with them or just learned them.....not the feeling you typically get watching the guy who WROTE the songs try to play them lol.

 

Isn't that Tom/blink's live shows in a nut shell though?

 

I've watched some of the live videos and I'd say this is the best Tom has sounded in years.

I got my AVA show on a Tuesday and my Blink show 3 days later, same day as NINE comes out. Gonna be a great week!

 

Speaking of my Blink show, I see that tickets are now on Groupon for $35.
