This stuff I’m hearing from Jason Hawk Harris is impressive. Looking forward to checking out the full album tomorrow.

Funny I just gave this a listen cause it just came out and just couldn't get into it.

I can totally see this. It is definitely ridiculously cheesy, and I can absolutely see their schtick being annoying, but I like their tunes.

I liked the first Midland album when it came out, but never felt the urge to go back to it after a few weeks. Excited to give this one a listen though.

Anyone heard the new Hunter Hayes? I find myself returning to it quite a bit (though that's been interrupted by the new Noah Gundersen).

For Will Johnson solo albums so far, I think Swan City Vampires gets the slight edge over Hatteras Night, A Good Luck Charm but only barely. They are both phenomenal albums, but I remember thinking SWV was perfect front-to-back, where the 2nd track on HN,AGLC overstays it's welcome a tiny bit for me. It's still a good jam, but it gets a tiny bit repetitive at almost 6 minutes. All still early stages for me though.

Cuz they're from Texas! I kid, I kid.

Somebody else check out this Jason Hawk Harris album, even if just for this one great song.

I like all 3 of these songs a lot. I am gonna pick this up and listen to the whole thing.

Midland definitely lean a little too hard on their (manufactured) image/schtick but the songs are still good and I'll take them over most of the liquid dogshit that dominates country radio/charts any day of the week.

So when are we getting new Moreland and Ramirez albums?

I can't get enough of this song. It's like Red-era Taylor Swift crossed with A Mark, A Mission-era Dashboard.

Late, but this song rules. Went back and listened to her 2018 EP and that has some massive hooks on it, too. Very excited for the album on the 27th.

I've enjoyed her EPs (I like the 2017 one a little more than the 2018 one, actually), but this is just on another level. I'd previously felt like she was trying just a little too hard to be clever. This just feels super honest, and the combination of her influences (country, emo, and pop-punk, mostly) is perfect.

Ramirez said his album is done. I'm not sure when it's coming out.

Moreland has been recording his new cd at The Echo Lab in Denton, TX.

Digging the Maybe April album today. Feel like people around here would like it a lot. A few songs:

The Spotify playlists for country really are a problem. Listening to those, you’re basically going to have all the misconceptions about country proved right.

Sturgill and Kalie Shorr out the same day. Really looking forward to that. Miranda in November. Kelleigh Bannon's debut in October. Old Dominion, Jon Pardi, Luke Combs, and Riley Green for the pop-country-leaning side.

There's a lot of stuff I would have expected that hasn't been announced yet. Tenille Townes (seriously, worst album rollout I've ever seen), Jason Isbell (what's he been up to?), Butch Walker (supposedly got a country-leaning/singer-songwriter record in the works, but radio silence there), Carly Pearce (been done since May, but nothing) and a few others. Been an odd year. I really think country labels are at a crossroads and don't know how to promote albums in a singles era.

Caitlyn Smith has a new single out Friday. I hope that means we get an album announcement too.

Went to AmericanaFest this past weekend and stumbled upon some artists I wasn't familiar with.
