Yeah, I agree with that. The Bengals are okay, and that’s not a super fun place to be. I’d argue it’s better than being a fan of a team in a failed rebuild or just a fully dysfunctional and mediocre team, but it’s not something that gets you pumped either

I don’t think the Saints or Braves fall into that category though

 

Every year since Dak started, he’s been getting the ball more and more and is now getting the ball a higher percentage than half the leagues starting quarterbacks, so we’re not completely relying on Zeke. Last year is a great example: Dak and Zeke with an awful receiving corps equaled a pitiful offense and we were heading towards a losing season, even with Zeke still being arguably the best RB in the league. Once Amari arrived, we instantly turned around and the entire offense suddenly put it together and were playing at a top ten statistic level.

As far as success/failure and all that goes, I think as long as your team is doing better each year then the year prior, then it’s a success. And that’s where we’re at now, so I’m happy with what we’re doing.

 

Oh man, the Braves absolutely do and I'll fight this to the death. To have a Starting Rotation that is almost entirely hall-of-Famers for a long period of time and win the division like 15 god damn years in a row or whatever nonsense it was, and come away with one ring. God that would piss me off to death.

 

Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz/Chipper/Andruw deserved more.

 

so what team does AB play for next year?

 

I'd bet 90% of baseball fans would take those Braves years for their team

I think Brees could play as long as Brady with the way they're adjusting the offense for him. They should probably add literally anyone outside of Thomas at wr tho.

 

It’s not ideal to lose in the playoffs so many times, but growing up a fan in the Chipper/Andruw/Maddux/Smoltz/Glavine years was objectively great and helped baseball become one of my favorite sports to watch. Those are some of the greatest to play the game and not turning it into a dynasty doesn’t take away from that. (It might mean that Bobby Cox is wildly overrated as a manager though)

The 00s/early 10s Hawks are the kind of mediocre good that’s ok and frustrating/deflating as a fan. None of Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, etc were the kind of star that a basketball team needs to be a contender and even though they finished with good records some of those years, it wasn’t even disappointing when they lost in the playoffs because it was expected

 

I was a BIG Glavine guy growing up. He's from my neck of the woods. And Chipper was so god damn cool.

 

I want to start a petition to get the Panthers in the AFCS instead of NFCS. Can we swap with Houston?

 

I remember not feeling satisfied winning only one World Series in the Utley/Rollins/Howard/Hamels prime years.

 

Those Hawks teams are another PERFECT example of what I never want. 60+ wins and a kiss of Lebron's ring on the way to the golf course.

A Better Way to Understand Matthew Stafford’s Decade in the NFL

I love Stafford so much and wish he had gotten the coaching/supporting cast he deserves

I just want him to win one playoff game. just so everyone can finally shut the hell up about it.

But yeah, I hate that they've tried going against his strengths in playcalling and ignored that he can sling the damn ball

 

Matt Patricia was 100% the wrong coach for Matthew Stafford.

 

Stafford did win, against the cowboys.

 

There's something to be said for this argument. Tomlin still needs better coordinators.
