We have this Halloween store that's open year round and it's awesome. Me and my buddy went last week, and the Courier Times happened to come by to interview the owner and they wanted to interview us and take pictures of us. But yeah Undisputed does suck, as well as First Things First.

Seven year total deal is smart. Allows the last 3 years to be a lie and let Zeke say he made bank on the extension numbers

Gurley's deal was a 4yr/$57.5mil extension with $45mil guaranteed...but that was on top of his rookie deal that had 2 years. The AAV said $14+ mil, but he actually only got $21mil up front, and if his knees had been fucked after last year, they could have cut bait on the other $24mil in "guarantees". Basically his 5th year option + franchise tag year.

To get "7 years" for Elliot, they extend him 5 years. So call it 5yr/$75mil for easy math. They guarantee his 2019 salary, his 2020 option year, and a 2021 franchise tag as a signing bonus...so, call it $25mil signing bonus. Everything else can match the Gurley deal exactly...$5mil roster bonuses that guarantee on Day 1 of the prior league year, and $5mil base salaries that guarantee then as well.

He makes $25mil Day 1, almost certainly makes ~$50mil in real money through 2021, and from 2022 on he costs the team $10mil in cash each year but a cap number of ~$15mil, and they can cut him each year for savings. Elliot sets the record on every level for a RB, but not in a way that say Cousins deal or Rodgers deal exploded the QB market.

And Elliot would be 28 going on 29 when he'd be trying to force a new deal...so, team would have all the leverage then...in a way that a 3yr extension, 5yr total deal would set them up for this again in 2021.

Pretty sure BSO has never broken anything in his sites history but this seems about what is expected

 

I'll be curious what the guaranteed number is. 6/90 is the same as 5/75 or 4/60 when the guaranteed money is a $20mil signing bonus and another $25-30mil in roster bonuses/guaranteed salaries for years 1-3.

Although stacking 6/90 onto his current deal makes him the first $100mil RB I do believe.

edit: If Elliot played out the whole deal, he'd earn in those years what AP did in his entire 12 year career.
