i listened to the dream walker the other day. it's still a pretty good record tbh! the eps he's released since have for some reason been total garbage, i guess you can never tell with the dude

  3. In all seriousness though, I never thought in a million years somebody in a pop punk band could have the ego he has.

i'm the one guy besides Tom himself who likes AVA more than blink... or used to, because he completely fucked that band up by kicking everyone out and turning it into the bullshit media project it is now. i even liked TDW and the Poet Anderson short, but now it's just too much. WDNTW and I-Empire will forever remain two of my favorite records of all time, though.

Maybe I just have a certain hatred in my heart for AvA because back when I-Empire came out, I gave it a try and bought the CD. My iPod was busted at the time, and being a broke college student, I resorted back to my CD collection during my 30 minute drive to class every day instead of getting it fixed. One day a girl wanted to rip some of my CDs and then conveniently decidde to not answer my texts for 4 months so guess what the only CD I had left for those long drives was? EVERYTHING'S, EVERYTHING'S MAAAGIIIIUUUCK.

  7. Only AVA stuff I can even stand is We Don't Need To Whisper, but I often think about how good some of those songs would be if they were actually Blink songs. Distraction, The War, Good Day, etc.

I actually was(am) an AVA fan. I have always always always preferred Blink to them but I loved every song on WDNTW and Iempire. I was like great!!! The Love Part 1 came along and I liked 3/4 of the album, and was like "This is still good!". Then love part 2 came out and I liked a couple songs but not most of them and was like "Tom what are you doing....". Then TDW came out and I liked a handful of songs a lot but skipped the rest and I was like "Maybe...what....tom are you ok??". Then I heard his solo album and was like "Tam Stahp!!". Then I saw he released his new EP and passed.

Moral of the story: Tom started strong with AVA imo but lost steam.

Noticeable Mentions: The Adventure, The War, Call To Arms, Rite of Spring, True Love, Flight of Apollo, Hallucinations, Surrender, The Wolfpack, Kiss with a Spell, Mercenaries, Bullets in the wind.

Hey look an Ava hits mix. And never again lol

I really liked WDNTW and I-empire, they were my remedy to blink's breakup.
After Love pt. 1 and blink's return I didn't came back to AVA. Then heard the new songs prior to the Dream Walker, which I enjoyed, but didn't gave myself the time to listen to the album, and when I decided to give it a go, Tom quit blink again.. so I got pissed and never heard TDW properly haha

Completely agree with this post. I was an AVA fan until the Love albums, especially Part 2, since then its been hard to get into them again.

The Adventure is p good. I-Empire was so fucking awful, I refuse to use my time to listen to anything else.

The day I listened to I-Empire still registers in my mind as a day of tragedy I vividly remember with pain.

Interestingly TOYPAJ had 2 top 30 singles in the UK but the album itself only peaked at 4. Also, Enema has 2 top 20 singles in the UK but again the album only peaked at 15.

The Blink name just carries a lot of weight these days? Or the competition has just dried up?

I would have guessed Enema did better than TOYPAJ too but it only got to number 15 although it doesn't say the sales numbers. I don't think I've paid attention to the charts for like 15 years haha.

Both albums have sold in the neighborhood of 15 million units worldwide, I believe
