I dig it, Matt's verse gets stuck in my head sometimes. To me my only meh song is teenage Sattelites and even then that one has grown on me. Glad you're digging the album though!

 

Inevitably two minutes from now someone will post a youtube link where it's edited all nice with the songs cut out, but until then if you absolutely can't wait, here ya go.

 

Yeah Matt's verses are the best part of the song, they remind me of Alkaline Trio. I'm still sad that Hey, I'm Sorry didn't make the record ..

Also, does anyone know if they have Japanese version on vinyl or is that not a thing?

 

Do you think Tom has listened to California yet?

If so, does he listen with the approach that the songs are about him?

Does he not give a shit and just will disregard the album?

 

I'm sure he's tempted to listen to it, you know, so he discovers how blink sounds without him, but his ego won't let him lol

 

Is there anything new/interesting that we haven't heard already on here?

Agreed... he should just be a bigger man and congratulate them. I'm sure he'd put a spin on it like - "Congrats to Travis, Matt & Mark on a fun record. I'm still in my band though LOL. Yeah - with each Angels album I liked it less and less.

 

Tom's probably secretly writing a brand new Blink album so he can say, "They won't let me back in the band but I have an entire album's worth of Blink material ready! Sounds like Enema of the State meets Untitled. Too bad I can't share it with you... shoot... If only they'd let me back in the band again... Their loss. PRE-ORDER MY NEW BOOK!"

 

I just wanted to love that band so much because Tom was my favorite member of Blink. But it just didn't have the same spark. Something about it was missing the mark of being amazing. To me, at least. Obviously there's people who love AVA way more than Blink or whatever, but man... that band just doesn't move me at all. There's a few songs I like a lot. I could probably make a 8 to 10 track AVA mix and be perfectly content with never listening to any other songs by them again.

 

When it comes to AVA I only like certain songs, I can't sit through an entire AVA album.

Ahaha yes ! I will say " Everything's Magic " is easily my favorite AVA song though.

 

I still like "The War" and "Everything's Magic" quite a bit. "Mercenaries" is probably my favorite AVA track though.

 

California didn't have any landscapes to Tom's liking so he deemed it a failure.

 

I agree with this 100 %. Even though " Everything's Magic " is a rip off of Tom Petty aha.

 

The closest thing to Tom's landscapes is the Left Alone intro

I will admit that I actually like The Dream Walker and maybe half of WDNTW but yeah that band isn't for me for the most part.

 

But Tom would never think that ! His ego isn't that big now.

 

Angels and Airwaves' problem was that they wrote their best song, "The Adventure," without realising how good it was and instead steered in a completely different direction. So I guess that sums up Tom's whole life.
