You saved Steve from having a bad day

 

Trying to avoid hyperbole since I’ve only heard it once, but I’d have a hard time saying this is anything other than her best album. It’s so immersive, easily her strongest work lyrically (and maybe vocally, although that’s debatable), Jack’s production is so lush and beautiful... it’s all of Lana’s strengths distilled into the most cohesive body of work she’s put out at least since Ultraviolence. Damn.

I think there are better individual songs on Lust For Life, but this one hangs together as a piece better than any of her other albums and doesn't have the dragging problems that most of them do. Agreed on lyrics.

 

Yeah, I do think she has songs across her other albums that top the tracks here (but there’s a few on the new one that could make me change that statement eventually) but this is the first album of hers that makes me feel like it fully justifies its length

 

This is literally all I want to listen to. Needless to say my friends are annoyed with me this Labor Day Weekend haha

 

Man, "Venice Bitch" is some mangum opus shit. I didn't think another song of hers would touch "West Coast" for me, but here we are.

Honest curiosity - Lust for Life has probably been my least favorite of hers, even after doing a deep dive on her discog recently when I realized how much I was going to dig NFR. What songs on LFL do you think are stronger than NFR?

 

Just listened to Born To Die then this right after, the growth in songwriting and vocals is

 

this is both insane and like yeah of course James Franco said he was going to write poetry with her and then wrote a fake essay claiming it was a conversation they had

 

This album is going to be so highly though of in the coming years

 

Not huge into Lana but I always enjoy her tracks when I hear them. Excited to dive into this tmr on my day off

 

Wow my friends are like.. real annoyed with me now. I guess 24/7 Lana is not for everyone
