They pretty much do. They won't say it though, they'll say it's their job so it's not a surprise if it happens. Pretty sickening stuff.

    Don't assume.

You're right. I believe it's 136 blacks and 279 whites out of a total of 566 people killed by police in 2016 so far, as per "the Counted" website. But don't try to talk about numbers or facts, people on here (or news outlets) won't listen because it doesn't fit their narrative.

Ps - I think it's a joke the President said "there's no possible justification" like there would actually be a possible justification for this attack?! Dude is seriously a race baiter.

How is this accountability? If you kill a citizen you should be tried for murder, right?

Like I said, random thought that isn't going to happen.

    Here are the facts:

A fairer analysis, at ProPublica, found that black males aged 15 to 19 were 21 times more likely to be killed by police than white males in that age group. And The Washington Post reports that unarmed black men were seven times more likely to be killed by police this year than unarmed white men.

Deadly Force, in Black and White

White people are sixty-three percent of the population. Black people make up twelve percent of the population. When one adjusts for that, you find that they are, in fact, twenty-one times more likely than whites to be mirdered by police. Is there anything else you'd like to say?

Straight up, I don't acknowledge anyone who calls someone something as childish and hateful as a "race baiter". I mean, it's your opinion to have and if that's how you want to live your life, go apeshit about it. However, it does show just how you really are as a person to me and enforces the notion to not take anything you say seriously or give it a mere semblance of actual thought.

If you support the deaths of any human being, whether it's based on their race or job, then you are part of the problem. No one deserves to killed. Saying you support the killing of police officers is nothing more than insanity.

I have never once noticed, in my entire life, a cop being part of the community.

A few years ago my wife (then girlfriend) tire blew out on the highway. She pulled off to the side of the road and waiting for me to come put her spare on (she didn't have a jack int he car). When I got there, the first thing she said to me was that no less than 7 cops drove right past her while she sat on the side of the road by herself.

When it comes to actually helping people, cops are completely incompetent and dumbfounded. When it comes to collecting revenue from the public through tickets and fees, they become a expert-level CIA operatives using the latest technology and best practices. If you call a cop in need of help, they might get to you eventually. If you are going 7 miles over the speed limit, they are johnny-on-the-fucking-spot ready to hand out tickets.

I cannot believe people in this community support the killing of anyone. Both terrifying and disheartening.

I understand the impulse to wish death on those who have caused death. Historically, however, that sentiment has caused nothing but unnecessary bloodshed and dangerous extremism. A focus on peaceful resolution is more important now than ever.

Correct. Like someone above said, its in their job description. I feel the same about military personnel other than veterans of ww2 and those who were drafted into Vietnam.

Edit: I hate posting on mobile. Auto correct is sloppy.

You must think the civil rights movement was all sit ins and marches.

the american revolution was pretty violent. same with the french revolution. or the civil war (while ending slavery was pretty incidental to this one, it still happened). one could argue that the most drastic lurches forward in loosely defined "freedom" (since black people were never included in that definition) came from bloody wars and violent crashes.

If you don't support punishment of racist police forces by any means, then you support the systematic murder of non criminals and poc. There's not as much gray in this issue as liberals would like.

Getting murdered is in a police officer's job description?

I support punishment and accountability, not death.

Are you willing to pull the trigger?

I already know the answer so I'll say this; if you support the killing of anyone for any reason then you should be the one pulling the trigger, don't wait for others to take action on the things you advocate for.

Is this a serious question? Do cops sign up thinking they might not get hurt or even killed some day? They don't want it but they know what they signed up for. Why should I sympathize if it happens.

It's a serious question, is getting killed in the job description of a police officer? I looked online and couldn't find any such job requirements.

Have cops been punished or held accountable? A community can only take so much before they snap. When that community isn't one youre in, it's easy to say "let's just wait and see". The inaction of the justice system provoked this but no one wants to say it.

I get that but I stand by my position that we should expect better from our own communities. We're years past those revolutions and wars and our weapons have developed considerably since. If we continue to fight the way that we did, to the furthest extent of our weaponry, any issue can easily escalate into devastating consequences. We have just seen police use a bombing tactic they have never used before. In this case, it was in order to protect and de-escalate a dangerous situation, but those and other new weapons can quickly and easily be turned against citizens if violence against law enforcement is tolerated or encouraged. I don't know if I genuinely expect this situation to be resolved peacefully. I just hope that we can at least agree that it would be ideal.

I didn't say it was a requirement. But hey if you want to play semantics that's cool too.

Oh and firemen might get burned in the job, in case you didn't know.
