The last 5 bands mentioned in this thread have incidentally been mentioned in order of descending quality.

 

i thought long and hard about a music opinion i have that would cause a stir on ap (er chorus.fm)....and yes, I think Thrice is boring and is on the same level as a band like Chevelle. THROWING ALL THE UNPOPULAR PUNCHES NOW

I too think Thrice is on the same level as Chevelle. Chevelle are awesome.

Yeah AF is not great IMO. Certainly not the peak of emo, and in general p boring

 

I prefer American Football to The Weakerthans.

 

I acknowledge that my favorite bands' inspiration comes from the bands that paved the way pre 2000 but 95% of my favorites are post 2000.

Maybe one of these days I'll start listening to Zeppelin and shit. I've tried before and failed.

My response unpopular opinion is I prefer Mineral, Christie Front Drive, and Penfold to AF.

Also L&L is my favorite Weakerthans album. Not sure if that's unpopular or not, but usually I see RS mentioned most

There are absolutely a ton of essential albums from the 80s and 90s in terms of hip hop

I could see how post Vhessiu, a non thrice fan might think they are boring compared to heavier music but I have no idea how that statement works with Artist and Illusion.
I love chevelle as well, so even though I think they are on different levels as far as sound and talent, I'm not mad they are being grouped together

 

Unpopular Opinion: I don't understand the love for The Hotelier.

Everyone I see praise them seems to love the same bands I do, but for whatever reason I don't get it.

 

The thing I say to everyone who ever says this is have you read the lyrics while listening? Even if you still don't personally love the music I feel like most people would understand the love they have.
