It sounds like a pre-production mix or something. I only listened once but it sounded like all of the parts were the same, but the mix was different. Definitely not a polished version, too much reverb, levels were wrong, etc.

 

Ahh ok, because at 1:34 the kick drum even sounds different.

 

I'll be there tonight, will update post show if there's any changes to the set.

I'm glad Mark and Travis keep calling Tom out on his lying BS and I really wish Tom for once would stop the non sense and be straight with everyone. Hopefully after the press for California dies down the band foesn't have to keep addressing this and also Tom stops making statements about the band too.

 

Excuse me if it has been said before... California is now on track to surpass Neighborhoods first week (Pure sales: 160k; SPS: 175k).

I'd love for him to be on the next record as a feature for 1-2 songs, but if push comes to shove, I want Matt to stay.

 

Holy shit, really? I was pretty vocal in the thread earlier about thinking that wouldn't happen but the fact that it could do that with pure sales is incredible

 

Of course it won't stop because whenever Tom wants attention he name drops the band and people will freak out over it.

Yeah I know right? If he's happy doing what he's doing that's great just stop harping on something you didn't want to be a part of anymore and move on.

 

I'm pretty surprised too but the band has been getting tons of press. My mom randomly asked me over the weekend if I was happy about Matt Skiba in the band. She's in her 60s and knew his name and I was speechless. She said she read an article about blink in the newspaper.

 

WOW - I was thinking 95k-100k in SPS.

 

What was Blink's biggest opening week ever?

 

I think TOYPAJ sold over 350,000 first week.. Untitled sold about 313,000

 

Well streaming plays a factor now so I wonder how the hard copy sales of California and Neighborhoods would line up

SPIN interview is good. Sounds like Mark and Tom have absolutely no relationship whatsoever though.

 

160k for California
135k for Neighborhoods

 

I feel like Neighborhoods would have intially sold better if they dropped the album right around when they came back in 2009. Go the FOB route, come back in full force when you have everyone's attention.

 

Yeah their momentum really got killed.
