How are so many of the dems much lower than Dem party average, while Trump is much higher than GOP party average?

Do people actually fall for the "He's an outsider so the republicans suck but Trump is different" shtick?

And is it just that the conservative media is successfully able to get people to dislike specific politicians, even if their policies (and thus the dem party) are much better liked?
