i reserve the right to change my mind on this because i'm only halfway through my second listen, but while this is quite good, it's quite safe. and i feel like we haven't had a "safe" album from her since fearless.

It’s way more my thing than reputation so far

  4. This thread was not fun to read because I want to know but I will survive (somehow) until I can listen.

Also, we're definitely going to need that Taylor Swift country comeback album after "Soon You'll Get Better."

Ha, so much for my “every jack song really does sound the same” thought I had a few minutes earlier

Thought that Me! was going to be out of place on this album after the 3 other singles, and in the context of the album, I was even more correct than I thought I was.

It does feel very safe and I do miss the risks she takes, even if some of them don't turn out well.

    This is good so far.

Also, really interested in what re-recorded versions of her earlier albums would sound like. A recreated Red would probably feel really uncanny valley; the original is too perfect. A 31-yr-old Taylor doing Fearless could have a really special feel to it, though.

  15. Is she allowed to use the instrumentals from each of the old songs, or do they have to literally re-record everything? If that's the case, that'll undoubtedly be a nightmare for her and the band.

“Me” is the worst song on this album by a lot. Truly a baffling single choice. I feel like there are songs on here that could have had a shot at taking down “Old Town Road,” but they didn’t release any of them.
