As bad as Tom ever was live, which was basically every time I saw them, there's something forgivable about it when you're actually there in person, especially being in the pit or event front row. Being 10 feet away from Blink is priceless, even if Tom was yodeling and word-vomiting the entire night.

HAVING SAID THAT. I'm so stoked to see Skiba do some of the songs justice.

 

Tom was the absolute worst when he took Box Car Racer on the road - even worse than the drunken yodeling.

 

On YouTube he sounds like absolute garbage, but honestly, so many people are singing live that you can't even really hear him enough to ruin your experience. He was also changing all of the lyrics around too when I saw them, so maybe it just distracted me. I think in the pre-chorus of "First Date" he made some comment about wanted to take a bubble bath with Oprah.

 

Wasn't that peak pills/alcohol abuse time for him?

 

Canadian leg starts today so I think today would be the day the change up the set...if they ever do.

 

Yeah - it was awful. I was at a festival here in Arizona and the crowd started booing because it was so bad.

 

I saw BCR too but I was like 13 so I was having the time of my life

 

That is one thing I will miss... the completely absurd/crude jokes/lyrics. A blink show is a party and Tom's banter with Mark would make it truly unique. We'll see how I feel after my first Skiba/blink show in a couple weeks.

 

Me too - I hated that the crowd was booing but I had terrible taste then.

 

I really do wish they'd cut Tom-only songs. My ideal setlist for this tour would consist of only California songs and Mark songs. There's no reason for them to add Wishing Well or even Not Now when they could have Going Away to College and Josie in a permanent spot.

 

But Skiba kills it on Always. Other than that, yeah I could without the Tom-only songs. Especially First Date and All the Small Things.

 

Skiba kills on all of them. I hope they just play whatever songs they wanna play. Skiba's doing a great job and a lot of those songs are they're their hits so they almost have to play them

 

But I want Not Now I like that song and Skiba kills it in my opinion :(

 

Tom gave me a high five after I crowdsurfed to the end of Dammit at Starland Ballroom. That shit made my night.

I personally wanna hear Tom songs live, hearing Matt put his own twist to them would be wonderful. And let's be honest, people are going to want to hear Tom songs live regardless if he's in the band or not.

 

^^Matt butchering the beginning of WMAA is pretty funny, but by ~1 minute in, it's all good.

 

That's what I noticed, he honestly can't do any wrong. I'll always have the biggest man crush on Skiba. My girlfriend always makes fun of me for it aha.

 

The rest of his performance makes everything worth a fuck up like that. He sounds awesome on ATST, Down, Always, Violence. I'd take an all-Tom-song show, fuck it haha. He's made the effort to play the Carousel bridge better after that Firefly performance too. Matt's awesome.

 

The San Diego lyric video, is that version of the song a demo version ?

 

any particular instances? I've never heard BCR live and i'm curious about this now.

 

Yeah don't read the comments. People saying he was messing lyrics up all night. I'll take a few mess ups over Tom's "Shesraduv shesrafuginnymare unpredibbledible nadastaaayare" rendition of the dumpweed chorus any day.
