regarding the lyrics, I don't think training your respective partner is inherently sexist, it just shows a very juvenile understanding of relationships and an unwillingness (albeit momentary and born from the frustation expressed in the song) to love someone for who they are, rather than loving someone for the potential to mold them into something you deem lovable. It's gross coming from either gender.

 

I think I'm still just upset that @Audrey Horne hasn't told us what that rumor was

Does anyone think Hey I'm Sorry has a kinda different vibe to the album? It definitely feels kinda "bonus tracky" to me haha. I can see why they left it off. I dig the chorus but the verse is pretty forgettable.

 

Yea, it definitely has a different vibe. That's probably why they made it a bonus track. It doesn't have that same fun/summer vibe that the rest of the album has.

 

Wasn't that song part of the pre-Feldman sessions?

We were having a discussion... I thought it was a bit much to say that they stopped appreciating Enema because of the sexist lyrics, especially in Dumpweed. I pointed out that if you focus on the one line, it sounds sexist but if you view the song as a whole and take it in context it isn't as extreme as they were making it out to be. You can look at almost ANY song that refers to the opposite/same sex and deem it sexist if it has any negative feelings.

It's a fucking song written by a teenager trying to handle heartache with a girl. Why does defending this make me a bad person/mis-represent blink fans?!
