I imagine it'll be a Greg song but I'm curious about the raw/live sound with Tom

 

Yeah that sucks

 

The tour doesn't start until October 25th so there's still time but I don't want it to be forgotten that it's still unaddressed, you know

 

I doubt they’ll address it, unfortunately. It seems like the allegations never caught on, and those who did know about it seem to have moved on or brushed it off

 

Regardless of what the awareness level was about Culture Abuse before five weeks ago, that excuse isn't going to fly when multiple people brought it to their attention once the tour was announced. Can only go so long before it transitions from "we didn't know" to "we're ignoring it".

 

I mean, to be fair, there’s no guarantee that they run their own social media. At least social media branded as The Menzingers.

 

If not, someone that works for them runs it, and is very active on it.

 

Multiple people is like what, maybe a dozen at most? I’m not saying it’s right, just that the most likely move is blowing it off since there isn’t any heat on them for it.

 

Yeah, at this point that's what I'm thinking is probably going to happen too, which is of course monumentally shitty. I'll be really let down by this band if the tour goes on as is, and I'll be letting them go for good.

 

I am getting extremely stoked for this album.

 

I just know a lot of bands let their label and/or management work the social media. There’s no way of knowing if the band members themselves even see all of the tweets they get on any given day. I just personally don’t know if we can or should assume that they’re willfully ignoring the situation when there’s no way of knowing if they’ve heard about it. It’s obviously shitty and bums me out, but the allegations gained almost no traction to my knowledge. Unless I’m mistaken, it was a couple of tweets that didn’t really go anywhere.

 

Has anyone tried tweeting at/communicating with Tigers Jaw? I feel like that is the next best approach.

I’ve DMd the Menzingers twitter account, @‘d Greg and toms personal Instagram accounts on the tour announcement, and replied to tigers jaws twitter account all with links to the original tweet and heard nothing from any of them unfortunately

 

Mix on the new song (vocals in particular) stands out to me more than it did on Anna. If you didn't like that sound I have bad news. But I think a couple of listens and I'll get used to it. And then focus on the actual song which is really good on first listen.

 

Yeah, I didn't have as much of a problem with it on Anna but a few of the lyrics are quite hard to make out here. The song undoubtedly rips though, much like Anna it has the same energy but in a different way from, say, Tellin' Lies

 

Chorus is great on the new song. Not totally sold on the chord progressions in the parts between the verses/choruses but other than that it's a decent song. Doesn't give me the feels that Anna does though.

 

I just really love this band
