Also, I’m aware that Zeke is much better at his position than Dak is at his, but you cannot have sustained success season to season without having a good quarterback, so I’d rather sign Dak than Zeke if it comes down to it. Dak playingn well directly correlates with us winning. Zeke could be the best RB in the league again and we could still be losing, just like we were in early 2018.

 

This was the caveat I was going to add, since obviously the stats before and after that trade are different.

But that said, if Im looking at their 3 skill guys relative to the top 5ish salaries they'd want....Id pay Ezekiel first in a heartbeat. I dont see any world Dak is ever a top 5 QB...probably not even top 10. Cooper can be great, but he's inconsistent, but I can see him paying off as a top 10ish WR for sure. Ezekiel Elliot has already been THE top RB. Twice.

As someone who would never pay RBs their full money, he's the pretty easy choice of the 3. I'd pay Cooper today...and at the end of this season, based on a full season of Cooper, decide which of Dak/Zeke to keep

This is about perfect and directly on line with my thoughts. I just had zero desire to spell it out.

 

Im mostly playing devils advocate here, but Id rather see Dak make that leap before handing him that deal. Whereas Elliot is already at that elite mark and reasonably will be for the 4 years I'd extend him. And if Im wrong, elliot's deal is half the size.

Cooper I sign because I gave up a 1st and am already paying him $14mil for the year. That deal would have been done months ago.

 

Dak was statistically top ten nearly across the board with Cooper, so with him here I still think Dak can play very well.

I could go back and forth about Dak and our team all day but when it comes down to it’d hes played 50 games and people focus on ten or so in the middle and ignore nearly everything outside of that and it simply doesn’t make sense to me. He can and has played very well the majority of his career and I believe he will continue to do it, with or without Zeke.

 

You ever been bored and put on pre season football and try your best to trick your mind into thinking you're watching a real game? Never works

 

Stats clearly aren’t everything but look at these splits. The context of who was missing and/or injured during those ten games absolutely matters. Very few QB’s can play very well when they have awful protection or terrible receiving options.

 

Currently doing that with NO/LAC...its pretty terrible football featuring some of the worst QB play Ive ever seen; from Teddy Bridgewater no less. Getting outplayed by Cardale Jones!

Sometimes I’ll get behind players who will hold out and fight for a particular cause ... but a helmet will not be one of those causes.

 

I kinda get a player having specific wants in their helmet and equipment but Brown has lost most of the benefit of the doubt. It’s hard to see past how many issues he had
