That Iron Age album is so good

Probably gonna have to grab some tickets for Slipknot. I haven't really cared about them since the Iowa days, but the new album is way better than I expected and their live show has always been spot on. All that's left are lawn seats though, so I'm gonna have to work some magic to get up front.

Glad you like it! Check out their album Meta when you get a chance. One of my favorite albums of the last several years.

 

The new Astronoid album was pretty disappointing, IMO. And that's coming from someone who had Air in their top 5 of 2016.

don't even joke about that. i don't need to be disappointed in yet another band this year.

 

I'm not sure how you describe the sound of this Astronoid album, but having never heard of the band before, this album is pretty nice

 

I mean I did see Tomahawk open for Tool so anything is possible! Lol

 

Cali chaotic hardcore merchants SEIZURES are back! New record out in October, new song is ridiculously good.

 

I saw Isis open for Tool in 2007, that was a hell of an opener

 

Shoegaze Metal? I love it in small doses, it wears a little over a whole album for me though.

 

Random but your post made me think of it...are Isis and panopticon comparable? They both get a lot of praise and, to me anyway, have a similar sound.

 

I thought Panopticon has more of a black metal sound while Isis is essentially the true definition of Post Metal.

 

Yeah Isis is the post-metal standard while Panopticon is atmospheric black. I always figured Austin just named his project after the Isis album of the same name.

 

I'm late to the party, but if you're a Mastodon fan, I recommend checking out the Witchripper record from last year.
