I would have Straylight go second and maybe make them and Terrible Things get an hour.

Mostly so that John has a little rest in between sets. That’s a lot of singing.

Happy Body Slow Brain/Rare Futures is easily my favorite project that spawned from an ex-TBS member (yes, that includes Straylight Run; no, don’t @ me).

Straylight Run only has a handful of songs that I really enjoyed tbh. And I absolutely love them, but there's a lot of "meh" tracks in between

I find John’s voice borderline unlistenable half the time, if we really wanna throw out some hot takes.

I actually didn’t notice the artwork was cleaned up until Shaun posted about it today. This is definitely an improvement.

I'm interested in finding out if they slowed down the piano part like it should be for blue channel. Hope this isn't vinyl only....

As someone who genuinely has enjoyed every version of TBS I’ll always have a soft spot for the fred + Matt era. I remember seeing them at Nassau coliseum in 2006 with AVA and Head Automatica. I was 13 and it was my 2nd concert ever right after louder now was released. TBS headlined a sold out arena and idk if to this day I’ve ever seen a crowd like that for a show. At the time it seemed like the entire pit (which was the entire hockey rink after half the arena jumped the barricades) was going nuts. Clearly Fred loves all those songs as it was effortless for him to play them in that video.

Neither are very good anymore really, Adam just has a less grating tone to his voice than John does to me.

John just needs to use his throat and gut some more, his voice is fucking awesome when he does. The kinda low talk-y way he sings these days doesn’t sound as good as his other singing voices haha

Lol at Fred mentioning the vocal layers...pretty sure the outro to Bonus Mosh has either 5 or 6 vocal layers going on between Adam and Fred signing and Fred screaming.

And there’s a lot going on at the end of Phasers too.

I wish they’d layer vocals like that again tbh.

I missed the opportunity to see the original TBS during their first stint. They came to CLE in 2002 and all my friends went but I couldn’t make it...so the first 5-6 times I saw them were the Fred/Matt era and they always killed it live. Like, the energy for their shows was unmatched.

Never saw them with Fazzi (was supposed to when they opened for Blink in 09 but show was rescheduled and they weren’t on the rescheduled date).

I Have seen the original lineup since the reunion at least five times and I still love their live show but I think they were more solid and consistent and better sounding with Fred.

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

I never saw them with Fred unfortunately, but I saw them twice with Fazzi and they always sounded huge because they brought Isaac as a third guitarist, plus Rubano’s bass was always mixed really loud, but they were still tight.

I saw them in 2006 too here in England. I'd only go invited thanks to a "spare ticket" sitch so started listening to them a couple of weeks before and watched a few shitty live phone vids on youtube which didn't sound great so went in with low expectations but they were tremendous. I love TAYF but the Fred era will always be my favourite too.

That Nassau show was insane! It was nice and peaceful during AVA but then for TBS I was getting trampled on that floor.

I wish that show was filmed for a DVD or something. Even AVA was really cool. I remember Tom disappearing and then popping up in the seats to sing There Is.
