Well another summer over, thankfully.

 

Did City or Liverpool sign any new players?

 

City got Cancelo

 

City got Cancelo and swapped Danilo.
City also announced today that they got Scott Carson from Derby.

 

Crazy neither team did much and will still be decently ahead of everyone. I think Spurs are improved and can close the gap but most likely can only hope for 3rd.

Lo Celso and NDombele will really help against the press. Two massive upgrades in midfield. Harry Kane could have a massive season with those guys feeding him the ball.

 

City also signed Rodri from Atleti as a replacement for Fernandinho.

We signed some young players and a backup keeper.

Honestly, I think Spurs have a decent chance to close the gap on us. We're asking a lot of our front three, with a big drop-off in quality underneath. The three of them have played a huge amount of minutes plus two summer tournaments the last two years. Feels like we're taking unnecessary risks to be honest.

 

Sheffield United are shit but even I expect them to finish at least 20th.

Today Wednesday signed Massimo Luongo from QPR, Jacob Murphy on a season long loan from Newcastle and defender David Bates on loan from Hamburg. Really good business from us but I think we’re still a left back short. In an ideal world we’d have sold Rhodes on and got in someone with a bit of pace at centre forward.

Add the three we got today to Kadeem Harris, Julian Borner and Moses Odubajo and I’m delighted with the work we’ve done this summer. We’ve got rid of overpaid, ageing players and replaced them with some real quality and pace. We did all at a profit as well. Now we really need to get the managerial appointment right and we’ll have a real shot at making the play offs again.

 

I was hoping for some depth pieces to shore up the front three and a backup left back in case Robertson went down. Milner can slot in but I’m all about depth depth depth

 

I really don't want to see Milner play full back anymore. He's only getting slower and he was prettt slow to begin with. I think Klopp might be hoping that Larouci can cover LB and Hoever/Gomez RB.

I don't understand why we haven't bought a fourth attacker to be honest.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Dybala happens in January. Sounds like Spurs, Juve, and Dybala’s team were all in favor of the move but ran out of time with the image rights stuff.

Murphy is a player we seem to have totally botched. Bought him for decent money as a promising youngster and we've done absolutely sod all with him. Fingers crossed he lights up the park for you.
