I loved when Bruce Arians said in All Or Nothing "You miss a family event and I'll cut you" or something to that degree, there's such a difference between being invested in doing hard work and throwing away important life moments for a sports meeting

The Patriots are the exception, not the rule. I feel like you have to tell EVERY Patriots fan ever that sentence hahaha. Just cause you guys have a strategy that helps you win consistently doesn't mean that strategy is imitable by all the other teams.

If the Jags tried to treat their running game the way Belicheck treats his they would crash and burn and fail.

My kids' mom didn't tell me she went into labor until after our baby was born and I really really wanted to be there, so I'm extra bitter towards dads who don't stick around for that or just brush it off and leave asap

See, the problem is, when I come back saying "Hey Randall, you know more teams win than just the Patriots, and hardly any of them have "elite running backs" you just go "well, no one had good running backs for a bit" so despite my evidenced-based observation that teams with elite running backs don't win, you're only hope is that they do at some point so you can be right.

I understand that the Patriots are special, I also understand that the run-heavy teams are in no way competing for a Super Bowl this year.

You have this weird ability to take everything I say and somehow turn it into "he thinks everyone should try to be the Patriots" as if I think it's reasonable to expect your GM to draft the greatest quarterback of all-time in the 6th round. I don't think every team should try to be the Patriots, though more teams should consider being less fucking stupid.

But if you asked me to rate in order what positions I would emphasize in my team building, RB is pretty damn low. I don't think that's crazy.

I'm also fairly confident that if the Jaguars drafted Watson or Mahomes over Fournette you wouldn't hold this position so damn close to your heart.

Teams with best odds to win a Super Bowl this year:

New England Patriots 6-1 - Sony Michel
Kansas City Chiefs 6-1 - Damien Williams
Los Angeles Rams 10-1 - Todd Gurley
New Orleans Saints 10-1 - Alvin Kamara
Indianapolis Colts 14-1 - Marlon Mack
Chicago Bears 14-1 - Tarik Cohen?
Philadelphia Eagles 14-1 - Jordan Howard
Green Bay Packers 14-1 - Aaron Jones
Los Angeles Chargers 16-1 - Melvin Gordon
Cleveland Browns 20-1 - Nick Chubb

Talk about a who's who of the elite RBs. I'll give you Gurley, Gordan and Kamara (Even though I wanna fight that he's way more of a receiver and way more important to the passing game than the running game but whatever.)

Really doesn't looks like investing heavily in the RB position does a lot to help your odds

It seems like the way to go is build your O line and just roll with a RBC.

My opinion is that the most important thing you can do is get your QB. Nothing good will happen until you resolve that position. Then, I'm prioritizing DEs, OL, LB, CB, S all in one big mix. If those are straight, moving on to WR, TE, RB.

To me, a great offensive line can cover a lot more holes than a great wide receiver or running back.

The more time goes on the more I think, outside of QB, OL and DL are the most important and nothing else is close
