My friend's band Hive released their latest album last Friday; pretty brutal and fast stuff, think you all will dig it; album was mastered in Norway by Jack Control

 

Yeah I just read an interview with him where he shed some light on this. He actually kind of internalized the brunt of it and said he was running himself thin between the two, he wasn’t positive or easy to deal with and was sure the rest of them were tired of it. Him leaving that band apparently has made him and Cory closer now.

I totally forgot Joey wasn’t in Slipknot anymore. Dude could crush that set

 

While the new guy definitely can drum extremely well, and even fits the sound and style of what Slipknot is, Joey is so unique and stood out in songs constantly. It’s still kinda weird that he’s not their drummer but still actually playing drums. For a long time I had thought that something happened in which his health had prevented him from being able to play? But it seems that was wrong.

 

Joey had acute transverse myelitis and it greatly affected his ability to play drums.

 

Oh. I thought he quit.

But he is back to playing in a metal band now right? I think.

Also seeing them play a couple of their old powerviolence songs at the last Weekend Nachos show in 2017 was a real trip.

 

For those who don't know, the new drummer in Slipknot is Jay Weinberg, son of Max Weinberg from Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band and Conan O'Brien fame. Dude's not even 30 yet and has played with the following bands in some capacity:

That just makes me wonder what am I doing with my life? Jeeze.

I think he was in CKY for a brief second as well. He also said the Madball gig was very interesting but not for him.

 

Crazy. Did not know he was Max Weinberg's son. That's awesome.

 

He supposedly left Madball after a few months due to lifestyle and personality differences.
