Joe Budden is annoying but also a very good rapper

But not that good lol

 

I know a guy who has Shaq and MC Hammer in like his top 20, Hammer even top 10 lol now that’s a wild take, Joe Budden on 3 is boring

 

A funny thing about this is that Joe Budden on 3 gets people so riled up that nobody notices that Fabolous is on 6 haha

Granted Fab is a great rapper too but come on haha

I would obviously never rank Joe Budden that high, but I do feel like he's a super underrated rapper that was cursed with a big 'club' hit early in his career and that's all anyone points to throughout his career.

Mook Muzik mixtape series was incredible and Padded Room was one of my favorite hip-hop albums of 2009 and his work with Slaughterhouse was great too (although I never really felt he fit in with Royce, Joel and Crooked).

 

I don’t like Slaughterhouse but I do like Pump It Up. Also yeah Mood Muzik was something.

 

Personally, I wouldn't even put Budden in my top 100, but that's just me.

Well, I bought the CD on day one because I was all hyped, but then ended up not liking the songs at all. I don’t remember any of it now. I’m a Joell Ortiz fan though.

 

Yeah neither would I. Maybe he’s technically one of the 100 best rappers but also that’s impossible to actually determine.

 

Royce has always been one of my favorite rappers - dating back to the early 2000s, so I was really excited for him when Slaughterhouse came around and he started to get some more recognition from respected media/other rappers. I loved that first SH album and also liked the second one a good amount too, although I realize that the Shady production kind of watered the second one down from what the group was meant to be, but I still enjoyed it.

Yeah I mean the second one was worse because they tried to write some radio songs and they just can’t, haha (Pump It Up notwithstanding). I was never a Royce fan at all, but of course he’s a great rapper too. I was also happy about their successes with Slaughterhouse, regardless of what I thought of the music.

 

Royce > Budden

 

Between Book of Ryan and Prhyme 2, Royce had a pretty underrated 2018

 

This Cordae tape is okay. J Cole-ish in how it isn’t bad but there’s nothing to set him apart

I really really like Benny the Butcher (still need to check out Conway) but I couldn't get into Westside Gunn at all when I tried

 

Also I'm about halfway through Hood Billionaire in my Rick Ross runthrough and this is the weakest one since the first, each was better than the last so far for me until Mastermind was a bit underneath Teflon Don and God Forgives
